what can i use to get the ph run-off to 6.0 = add to the soil? and how much? Seems like my ph run-off keeps going down. I have always watered with ph @ 6.0 The plants seem to be doing great with no signs of trouble. I just dont want the ph to get out of control and hurt the girls.

For soil grows, (Sunshine 4 is in the soil category) you'll want the ingoing water to stay between 6.3 to 6.8 ph. Shoot for the 6.8 mark for a couple of waterings, and check the runoff. Speaking of which, you aren't using aquarium ph drops to check your runoff, are you? The color-coded result is skewed by the tinting in the water making the test result inaccurate.

I adjust my 8.0 wellwater to 6.8 with phDown. (phosphoric acid)

Soil buffers (lime, limestone dust, gypsum) that are added to commercial mixes fades over time. Usually lasts about 2-3 months, and your ph will start to crash. Doubtful it's your runoff ph taking a dive, more like an inaccurate testing method.

I am using general hydro drop solution. I have be looking at meters whats tour take on the tri-meter. Or should i go with maybe the bluelab combo meter? Let me get pics of the girls. I will post them later tonight after the lights turn on.

For now, I'd keep the ingoing water to around 6.8 to 7.0 before adding the nutrients. The nutrients will drop your ph down a tad also, but once you add the nutrients, you should still be in the low-end of being within range.

I use a Milwaukee ph pen with the extra calibrating solution. When you do get one, regardless of brand, don't let the electrode dry-out. It renders the pen useless. And since I grow in soil, I've never had a need for a multi-pen.
