A Bad experience with weed is ruining it for me

I really need some help with this. Im 18 I been smoking since 14 or 15. I usually smoke at least a blunt a day usually 2 tho. The other night i smoked a small bong full and didn't even think i was gonna get high. I got too high started panicking the next thing you know im scared for my life. I was about to call 911. My body was shaking, heart was beating real fast(im used to that but it kicked into like a whole new gear.) It was the most terrifying experience of my life. I thought the bud was laced but forgot i did 2 blunts of it the night before with my friend and we were both fine.

I tried smoking again the next night and although i was not as bad i kept thinking in my head that the same thing was gonna happen and at times it was very very hard to stay calm and i just wanted the high to end. Next night i went out and took 3 hits off a blunt and i started getting really nervous again but since i didnt smoke much it wasn't as bad but i still wanted it to end.

I know its all in my head but the thing is i can't get it out of my head. Every time i smoke its all i can think about now, even when i get my mind off it thoughts keep popping up. This really sucks cuz im a big pothead and i really want to smoke but like i said i jus cant get the panicking off my mind.

Nothing like this has never really happened over the past 3 years some small cases but....i just dont know what to do anybody have any suggestions for me?

like you said mate it's all in your head,you need to train your thoughts and be able to control your high maybe try smokin less or change the strain your smokin, if that dont work have a little break,

It can actually be pretty simple sometimes. Just wait until you're very relaxed and worry free. Be calm before you smoke, assure yourself its just in your head. Sometimes listening to good music helps, all depends on the person.

I agree. If you can't get your mind to behave, stop toking for awhile. Since you're not enjoying it anyway, seems like a good time for a tolerance break.

Weed can cause panic attacks. Usually it helps to not smoke too quickly.

If you get panic, try to avoid taking a huge bong toke as a first hit.

Small tokes from a pipe are good.

I find that if I take a few small tokes and only get a little buzzed for the first half-hour, then I can start bong tokes and heavy smoking without incident.

Be careful! You need to control your psychological frame of mind and your intake. If you're not feeling well or are having odd thoughts AND you are smoking, the two can be pretty scary. Best of luck to you.

I'll agree with what some others have said. Time to take a break!

Lay off toking for awhile (couple weeks to a month) and give your body and mind a rest from the altered reality. When you start up again, start slow!! Your tolerance will be lowered and it can sneak up on ya.

I'm an old pro at dealing with weed induced anxiety in this house, my fiance gets it real bad at times and even I do on occasion if I get too high. The strain really makes a difference too, and when it was harvested.

Because of anxiety issues we'll only smoke stuff we've grown and cured ourselves now so we have more control over our high.

Practice some deep breathing and mental relaxation techniques too. If you go into it nervous you're setting up for a bad trip.

yes....you could quick smoking...or you could reach down, grab your sack and take a bong rip! If you have a bad experience with something its not always the best thing to give it time. Sometimes its best to get over your fears by facing them right away.
