The most common advice I have read, is that you should use 18 hours light per day during the veg phase, and change to 12 hours light per day during flowering. That's what I'm trying right now on my first attempt. It seems to work fine. The idea is that the plant think it's summer when it vegs, and then the light period is shorter, the plant will think it's fall, so it will begin flowering before the winter. That way you make the choice about when the plant will start to flower. You could change to shorter light periods after about a month or so.
Yep!
18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower.
It would greatly behoove you both to check out THIS thread. DL the books and read The Growers Bible at a bare minimum. I'm still green here too guys but trust me the knowledge these books contain will help you immensely! :rastasmoke:
Even if you just DL the books I provided and read Marijuana Grow Basics - The Easy Guide for Cannabis Aficionados By Jorge Cervantes it will answer most all questions you could possibly run across, with the exception of problem toubleshooting.
18/6 or 16/8 is typically considered best for vegetative phases. Plants need a dark period.
18/6 veg - 12/12 veg .. 20/4 for autoflower...
