FLOWER

Hi well, i've read that whennever the plant reaches around 1-2 ft that would be a good time to star the flowering stage, but I'm not qquite sure if I want my plat to grow up to 4ft, thats a lot.
mine is 8inches, still a small one, already a month in Hydro and looks pretty healthy and happy.
My question here is... is there a minimun height or time for the plant to star flowering?

Also a quickie... I don't know if it is a male or female, I don't see any "balls" near the stem, but also... I dont realy know what to look for or what I am really looking at.... Is there a proper time to know that? or how long should I wait?

Marianin. The height the plant reaches is up to you. If you change the timing of the lights so it has less than 12 hours of light it will bud at any height. I know people who will buy a bunch of clones late in the summer then put them outside and have them bloom. They might get a 1/4 ounce per plant but when you have a bunch it adds up.

That said letting the plant veg until it is 4 ft before budding out will yield a much larger amount of buds. The longer the veg the greater the yield.

Personally I believe the quality is actually better if the plant gets to be about 2 feet or more before budding.

Letting the plant be in the veg stage builds up it's structure, and more so how much bud it produces pretty much. I'd recommend you read the Cannabis FAQs, as most questions WILL be answered there :D

Thanks so much guys, its just the FAQS are soo loaded that you cant find anything that easy now, im planning to let it grow 1 more week because Im leaving town in 5 weeks SO I cannto look aferter her anymore =S =( I0ll have to kill her so my houselord wont see her.

5 weeks is not long enough to successfully harvest unless its a super fast indica.

Usually the plants double in height when in flower, if not triple.

U can switch to 12/12 now but if its a sativa it'll take 8-12 weeks for flowering to complete.
