New to Hydro growing ... Quick question... Anyone help please?

Well , im new to hydro growing ... but going to give it a try. What is the timer for ?? Does the air pump stay on 24/7 or what ??

I see they come with timers , but dont know what they are timing ??

Anyone able to help ??

I understand you are new to growing. Let me tell you why your questions are ridiculous.

First, We have no idea what hydroponic growing method you are employing. Ebb & Flow, Ebb & Grow, Aero, Aqua, DWC, Fog, SOIL with drip, Drip Systems, Drain to waste???? Do you see my point yet?

Second, Which Timer are you speaking of? Depending on how you answered my first barrage of questions...I can answer this question...but, I will give you answeres now cause I'm in a giving mood, and baked again. LOL! So which timer are we speaking of? The water pump timer, airstone timer (in some grows they do this on a timer system), for your lights, for your fans, for your A/C??? Again, are you getting the point?

Third, A lot of us can help...but this is my advice. If you want to grow at home seriously hire someone to come in and build you a system and have them show you the basics! I wish I would've done this in the beginning...But, I think the trial and errors that you learn from your mistakes is what makes you either resiliant or the typical battered soul that lasts in these forums for only a couple posts.

Forth, READ THESE FORUMS. EVERY QUESTION YOU NEED ANSWERED WILL BE IN OUR PREVIOUS POSTS. In fact, feel free to browse and sell all the errors I made in my first grows in contrast to where I am now. Night and day sir...you will find success as long as you keep with it regardless of the mistakes you make. If you have questions...post pictures and ask us...PLEASE USE THE TROUBLESHOOTING FORM WHICH IS READILY AVAILABLE ON MANY POSTS!

A timer is needed for lights and pump if you're doing ebb dwc or wick. Air pumps don't need a timer, they should run 24/7. If you ask more specific questions we can help you more. Some people forget what its like to start out and need help.

Timer is for a couple things - lights, and the water pump. As stated by others the air pump should run 24/7. Figure out the flood/drain schedule for your setup (I find that for most typical tray setups 15 minute flood works well every 4 hours with a hyper-oxygenated nutrient solution.)
