Talking to Linkhart last night, he said the next big fight is over OPCO restrictions. Most of it is related to property values, which means big development money fighting against us. There is also a rumor that banks aren't loaning to businesses near grows.

I was waiting for someone to bring up property values. But the whole banks not lending to businesses near grows - that's a little ridiculous.

and that's how it goes. rights are eroded a little at a time. it's easy to start with the ones who aren't in the big money because they can't afford to fight and don't have much of a stake.

now that they've rolled over the patients and caregivers, they are going to make it super hard for MMCs to make it. They won't outlaw it, they are just going to regulate it so much it'll crush the profitability and push people out of business.

I guess Relief is the ONLY MMC in Denver who cares about this?

I'm working on an article for the next Kush about the "happy to be here" mentality that is dominating the community right now. A little over a year ago, when the justice dept memo came out, we hit our high water mark. Now we'll let them get away with murder just to keep whatever they let us have. It's all backwards.

you don't get it. there isn't a cabal, but there is momentum.

when they see the MMJ community lie down on one level, they are ready to regulate hard on many other levels.

JUST like Denver is doing after 1284. Neither 1284 nor A20 gives them the authority to make caregivers illegal, but they SEE the inaction on 1284, and now they are ready to try for more.
