My improvements to the lightbulb vaporizor....
Hello all, I've noticed some posts on some website about a lightbulb vaporizor and I liked the idea and the simplicity of it. My only problem I saw was having to re-tape the cover on each time you fill it. I decided to figure out a solution. I figured what would screw onto a lightbulb perfectly? Of course the female part inside of a lamp. I took the the female part out of the lamp (pretty easy, just take lamp apart and unscrew the two wires connecting it. The next problem was the plastic part attached to the female aluminum piece. Well, looking at it, it's attached with two rivets. I just took a small drill bit and drilled these two rivets out. You now have just the female part in picture one. I took a cap from a water bottle and drilled two holes in the top for the tubes to go into. To get the plastic cap to fit perfectly onto the piece I took a razor blade and shaved away the threads inside the bottle cap. I then just took electrical tape and put a few tight wraps, attaching the cap with the female lamp piece. Screw your new contraption onto your light bulb and your all set. Hopefully this is understandable, I'm just quickly typing this up so I may have left something out. If this has already been done, I apoligize. The ones I've seen made so far just have tape attaching the cap to the lightbulb. Take care, SUGAREEfer

Wow that is cool. Thanks for sharing! I'm going to try to make one.

I found that a plastic bottle cap from a 16oz. - 2L. coke bottle screws onto the light bulb threads nicely too.

how to you get the black part out of the middle of the light bulb, w/out breaking the bulb?

Hi Supersonicchronic, Today is the first time I tried this so I found it pretty interesting how they are actually made. Once you cut the metal part off the bottom there is an indentation. I then took a tiny screw driver and pushed straight down until I broke a hole into the indentation. I then carefully broke small pieces away until it was wide open. Using gloves probably would be a good idea (I didn't think of it at the time though, duh). A couple of other notes, the bulb I used had a white coating inside (just some type of powder) so I took some unused kitty litter and put a bit into the light bulb, shook it around and the white powder comes right off the bulb. Another thing I did was put some water in there to rinse it out good. To try to get the moisture out of the bulb I took my butane lighter to it to get the excess water to evaporate. Well I learned that butane lighters are too hot for light bulbs and it shattered the bulb. I think a bic lighter or a candle would be best for a flame source. I also read that 100 watt bulbs have a thicker glass so they are a bit more durable. Unfortunately all I had was a 75 watt so I had to go with that. Good luck and happy vaporizing, SUGAREEfer.

ok well a bic is a butane lighter first of all and second of all don't you know that regular glass will crack if it's really hot and you spray water on it?? same thing happens if you heat it up while water is in it......that's why glass cooking pans are made out of pyrex and the like.....

Ya I just pushed down until it came out. I found the perfect bulb, it didn't have all that white shit on it. I put some keif in the bottom and got a fat hit. Can you see smoke/vapor when you do it, because I can, not much though. Anyway thanks for the instructions, I've been high all day, and it's a (get shit done) type high which I need. I don't think this would work if you did not have kind bud.

Yes Supersonic, you can see the vapors but not much. You want to take the bulb away from the heat source once you see those vapors kickin'. The herb should look a light brownish color and not to the point of being burnt. I'm fried right now and agree, it's definately a 'get something done' high. Take care, SUGAREEfer.
