How can you tell hash is good by looking at it?

I know that there is the flame test, but i won't be given the opportunity to do it.. so i was wondering how could i tell by looking at it? i was given the description that it is dark brown and in room temp it is a laffy taffy - soft texture. for some reason he is keeping it in the fridge, supposedly supposed to be "bubba" or bubble hash... i'm not too sure as to why they cant break me off a piece of crumb, but i don't know if i should get it or not.. can someone please help...

There really is no way to tell. I have had nice golden brown and darker stuff that was just as good. So, take a very close look and just make sure its hash. If it indeed looks like hash I'd say buy it. Because its a rare thing that doesn't come around alot(at least where I live, actually never comes around so I need to make it myself).
