How do I "get legal"?
I would like to try medical marijuana in place of prescription pain meds, but can't figure out what I need to do, and if Solano County will even let me (if that's the right term...).
I live just inside the Solano Co line from Napa County, but I can't find any medical marijuana dispensaries in Solano Co. If my county doesn't issue cards, how do I 'get legal'? I presume I can't go to a neighboring county's health dept.
And how do I get a doctor's recommendation? I am retired military and just can't see asking a doc at Travis AFB or the VA for a recommendation.
I know these are such basic questions, but I can't find anything in the FAQs that address them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

How do I "get legal"?
The VA can't give a recomendation (they are federal), however, if you are in a legal state (like CA or MT) they can no longer refuse services if you are legal in your state.

Thanks Dennis. I presumed Fed (mil or VA) docs won't give a recommendation, but I never thought about them doing a urinalysis (?) and trying to deny services. That's interesting.
