For those with Java issues in the chatroom.

For some reason, on some computers, the Sun Java Runtime Environment does not handle the Parachat application very well, even with the most recent Java updates from sun.com. Sometimes the chat takes a VERY long time to load, or certain functions may not work properly. For those users who are having such issues, an alternative may be to use the original Microsoft Java Virtual Machine. Unfortunately, due to legal issues, the MS Java VM is no longer available directly from Microsoft, but it's still out there. This page has instructions and links for obtaining and installing the Microsoft VM for Internet Explorer (the only browser for which the VM will work). For me, at least, the chat loads much faster than it does under Firefox with the Sun JRE. Hope this helps!
