HELP!! Quick MH Light Question .... :

Okay so i found two pretty good sizes MH light balists and Bulbs in my Garage. Im pretty new to everything to do with growing but am slowly learning. From what ive heard MH bulbs are high in the Blue Spectrum , but the color rating for the Bulb is 4000K , with 38000 Lumen output. Would love to use for Veg or Flower . Now im confused on which to use on , as i thought high in Blue Spec would be 6500K and good for veg , but .... ?

Anyone help , please ??

MH bulbs come in all kinds of Kelvin temp colors. Anywhere from warm MH (3000K) to Ice Blue MH, 6500k or higher.

3000k MH would work great for flowering.

6500k MH would work well for the short veg time

Main drawback to MH bulbs is less lumens than HPS

Main drawback to HPS is narrow Kelvin temp range..2000k to 2400k..??

I would add the MH bulbs run hotter then HPS bulbs. Since the lumen output is lower with MH, what is not turned into light is turned into heat.

Damn I wish my garage had sweet growing equipment laying around. Good find...

So should i get get a 2700K Bulb and use it for Flowering and keep using my CFLs for Veg???

And yeah lol it was in attic of the garage
