Talkin' to my girls

Take this funny anecdote with a grain of salt, as this is my first go:

Ever heard of crazy people who talk to their plants? :hippy: Well, I have 6 plants going and I randomly decided to give one of them a name and start talking to her. They have been vegging about a month, and I have been calling this particular plant "Saint Dolores" since the first week.
All of the plants are the same strain, cloned from the same mother, and have the same water, nutrients, soil, and lighting regime. I rotate them all to ensure that none gets more light than the others. Only Saint Dolores gets special treatment and all this is really is just that I gave her a name. When I peek in to check the girls, I always say something like "well, hello Dolores, aren't you looking green today? You are going to give me some real good medicine, aren't you baby?"

It's all really been kind of a joke...except for the fact that Dolores is now almost twice the size of the others!!

It could totally be a coincidence, but it's funny so I thought I would share.

Go Dolores, go! Make mama proud!

The sodium channels responsible for controlling the opening and closing of stomata (for respiration/transpiration) are stimulated by ~125Hz and ~250Hz sonic vibration.

Sounds does help. This has been studied intensely, and several proven methods of using sound to enhance growth have been patented.

interesting...but they all grow together, so they are all receiving the sound vibrations. Only the one is doubled in size.

I'm pretty sure this is just a funny coincidence, rather than sound science...but I suppose we'll never know. :D

That's hilarious! Good for you for talking to them..especially Dolores. I never named my gals but maybe I should...I sing to them :-)

Much like light intensity, sound intensity decreases with distance.

If you're talking to that plant directly, none of the other plants will really benefit.

Hell my girls should be threw the roof . I talk ,sing, make sweeet love, eat, drink,exercise,Balance my check book,Eat dinner etc.... In the presence of my ladies.....As well as dang smart..

Has to be the right frequencies. Speaking musically B2, B3-Middle C. Those areas produce the desired effect.

well i just wanna ask u this what made u choose to name this particular plant did it look greener did it look healthier did it stand out in anyway? it may be coincidence that it is growing bigger than the others but not coincidence u picked this plant to name. :rasta::rasta::rasta::rasta:

But what about when Dolores is taking her turn at the back of the closet? I am talking to her directly, "hey Dolores! What's up, baby girl?" but the sounds passes over the others first when she is in the back. Are you saying she knows her name? :) Makin' me scared to smoke her...will she scream? :)

It was actually entirely random. They all looked sick to start with (newbie heat issues) and I wanted to see if one would get better faster. I just picked one and stuck a name tag on her pot. I don't think she was any bigger or smaller than the others to start with.
