Curing and drying.
Hey everyone.
I'm a noob and this is the first time! I have a couple of questions that might be stupid or already explained. I have searched and found many differences.
My plants are probably 3-4 weeks into bloom.
No fertilizers. Just left them alone to fend for themselves.
I believe I know how to chop them down LOL
1. The buds are growing, but all if not most of the bottom branches and leaves are yellow or have fallen off? Normal or not?
2. In terms of curing, I have read several statements. Some say hang upside down in a completely dark room for 24 hours without exposing it to light at all. Some say 4-5 days. If I am to check for bud rot how do I look at them? Is it 24 hours or days to break down the chloraphil (sp?)?
3. I have read both. Trim leaves off bud/cola before the start of curing. Which is best or right.
4. I know it is somewhat a debate, but I plan to put them in a mason jar. Burp just once a day? Do you still keep it in the dark?
Since it is my first time I will be happy with anything that I get! It has been a blast and am looking to try again next year.
I also wish to thank this site as well as all the comments from other people on this site that comment and help noobs like myself! Keep up the good work!
Any help would be much appreciated!

Curing and drying.
It's normal during flowering to see some leaf droppage and nutrient deficiency, some ppl actually prefer it as it flushes out a lot of the nutrients and tastes better depending on opinion. You really wouldn't want to feed her at this point in the game unless she's on her last leg, just let her finish. As for drying you don't have to worry about them getting the slightest bit of light, as long as they're shaded and have a little airflow and medium humidity they'll be fine. As far as bud mold and rot just keep an eye on them and if you see any remove the infected buds carefully as to not spread the spores. Many of us hang our buds/branches/plants upside down, it seems to aid a little in the drying and it's just plain convenient. You'll be fine man. If you need any tips on curing there are plenty of good, simple techniques out there just search the boards or google it. peace
