kill 2 birds with 1 stoner

This is my first post. I did search for a similar post, but i found nothing. I actually wasn't sure where to look, or where to categorize this post, for that matter. If you feel it would be better located elsewhere on this forum, please either let me know or just move it if you are so equipped.

anyways, i recently was given my first pipe. It is a chameleon pipe that changes colors very quickly. since it is fun to watch, i decided to clean it and try again. I took some 70% isopropyl ('rubbing') alcohol and filled a jar with about 5 inches of it. i then placed the pipe in the solution to soak for a few days. when it was done, the pipe was not as clean as i had expected (there were still a few very small specks. im just nit-picking here). However, the alcohol had turned dark brown. This was interesting. I don't know about you, but my first thought was about how much active resin is in that jar.

This is isopropyl alcohol. For anyone who might not know, ingesting isopropyl alcohol is usually fatal, and apparently in a painful manner. if it doesnt kill you, it will almost surely blind you. so do not ever ingest any rubbing alcohol. (or denatured ethanol/ethyl alcohol for that matter. denaturing is the process of adding poison to humans so that you do not have to pay a sin tax on an industrial product).

So my thought process is this:
1.Go get everclear.
2.invite my friends over and try to put the hurt on some smoke. somehow we will manage.
3.soak pipe in everclear.
4.repeat if necessary.

What I am posting for:
-I need to know how to quantify/measure the amount of actual active resin contained in a given volume of alcohol. In other words, concentration. Does anyone have any experience with this?
-Has anyone ever done this before? Is there a big obvious reason I am missing here?
