clarification on new MMJ laws - caregiver and MMC?
I apologize if this has been asked or answered already; I searched the forum but came up empty.
With the new MMJ laws in effect in CO, is it true that patients must choose a caregiver OR a MMC, and only one MMC?
I have a primary caregiver who is not very good at staggering his grow and therefore there are often times when he is unable to supply the meds I need. During these times, I shop at local dispensaries. Will I no longer be able to do this?

The 'new' application form requires the patient to specify if they are going to grow their own meds, assign a caregiver, grow some of there meds and assign a caregiver, or grow some of their meds and assign a center.
Here is the new form: http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/hs/medi...ewcPackage.pdf
This form was revised July 2010.
You can still shop at different centers. You do not have to assign an MMC to buy from them. At this time, 'some' centers are only providing for the patients that have assigned them because of some grow shortage issues. I would call ahead so you won't be disappointed.

Sooner or later it will balance out. There is a lot of movement from caregiver excess and closed dispensaries right now.
But to answer the OP's question, Yes you can shop at any MMC you want without having to reassign caregiver status. Shops do have the right to provide priority to patients that have assigned the grow to the MMC.
If an MMC tells you that you have to sign over in order to buy in their store they are lying. Just leave and go to the next block. There will be another dispensary there :)
