this is the only time can snap pics is when the MH is warming up...the camera has black bars...
Here is the scrubber and the inline that is hung with yo-yos as well to keep vibration noise down
just got back from store got 4in dryer hose, more extension cords, some black sheeting to cover the cab to lightproof it, and velcro tape to cover the door for easy access..
now i need the lens for the reflector to make a "cool tube" style effect
ill get some more pics of that process...
its a big jump from 5 CFLs and a 70w HPS...to having this big ol light...
the babies are on day 21..and were on 24/0 light cycles with the CFLs
now think were gonna veg for 3 more weeks while LST and sex them before we throw the screen for SCroG in...
thinking about switching to 18/6, dont know when though, temps are at like 85-88 deg with no inline fan hooked up
LMK what you think, tips suggestions?
i loved ur last grow so you kno im subcribed
thanks man...wish i could have finished in that desk...wanted to prove how stealthy it could be to grow these plants...
this new setup is sweet i have no height restrictions, i can change the size if need be, its just a PVC frame, covered in painters plastic, just bought black and you cant even see the light through it...
im having temp problems partly because im not venting into the attic yet, and my reflector lens isnt on either but i do have the inline fan connected to one end of the hood
heres the inline fan with carbon scrubber in the attic...
not worried about light leaks its in a walk in closet...
let me know what you think? i got the temps down finally to 82-85 degree lights on 24/0
no plexiglass to create cool tube effect on reflector either...that will come soon..
the 4"inline is making it hard to blow weed smoke out my window, sucks it back in
2nd pic is looking through an old exhaust hole that was taped up...
as you can see exhaust goes straight out the top
Should be a nice grow here. I've heard some bad reviews about those yo-yo's for lights. I'd say just get some chains with the clips like mountain climbers use and there are no worries about that crashing on top of your plants, or worse causing a fire. Best rule I heard was that if you wouldn't take a bath under the light, shouldn't have plants under it either :twocents:
Happy growing
thanks finn...i admire your grows...i had a really popular one in my sig...never got to finish
this will officially be the first time i can actually flower a plant and harvest it and smoke it!
hopefully i can achieve a smokeable yield...im just relieved i got the temps down to 80 last night think it was about 75 or 76 with lights off only had a 4 hr dark period because i hooked the timer up last night, these ladies(hopefully) have been under 24/0 since june 17th
im still clueless on when to take clones and what period of time i will be able to see sex signs...
from what i read you must clone in veg cycle but you must induce flowering to provide sex indicators...
i plan on scrog but dont want to have to take a clone or take out a male with the screen in place...
any helpful hints? i cant find an straight forward answer
If you want to Scrog then you need to know you have females. Otherwise it won't work as well and it'll be a lot of wasted time and effort.Quote:

Also, it's better to know how much stretch there is with flowering to get an idea of how to fill in the screen.
My advice would be to do plenty of LST in veg and then flower them out. You can take some clones while still in veg and if they have a problem rooting you will still have time to take more. Document the stretch with pics and then next grow you will know how much of the screen you should fill before flowering, anywhere from 30-70%. With my TW I went with about 60-70% (9 weeks flowering time) and the screen filled in quite nicely. Don't expect the first or second scrog attempt to be perfect. Takes time to know your strain and growing conditions. When you scrog I also recommend plenty of LST before the screen. Otherwise the main stem will be harder to control and will grow past all the other branches.
CDOT grow guide has a whole section on cloning. Click CTRL + F and type in cloning. Should have all the info you need about cloning.
If you have any questions just holler.
i love fimming, this is the first time i actually have a bit of headroom for plants to grow, but im waiting to see what my average temps are, today is the first full day of 18/6, this is day 23 in 5.5in square pots, next will be 3gal then 5 gal i believe...
thats my plan but shit never goes that well...i found a cool scrog screen 2x2in
this is all just a learning process, this is the first experience with this design and light setup
