What up? What up? Im new here and like it.
Listen, Im growing out doors and am a card holder. Theives are my biggest concern. So I came up with an idea for a cage made out of metro carts which I have tons of. My concern with this is light being limited and heat generated from the metal mesh causeing problems. What do you think? Will it cause a problem or should I be good?

Lol, I didn't know what a metro cart was at first, so I googled it, and LOL. WTF? Just go buy some 4x4x6' build a cube with fencing. LOL.

If the carts are black I would worry. Black absorbs sunlight and heats up. White and silver reflect light so they will not burn your plant like a black frame will. But silver will catch the eye and thats not good.
Whenever you are looking at security you gotta think like a thief. Where to enter? How to do the job fast. And how to get out of there fast. Where will they park? And most importantly what you going to do if you catch them?
I find a pack of dogs in a fully fenced yard with Beware of Dogs all over it works best. With rip offs it is not a question of if but when. And if your dogs maul the first rip, word will spread that you have dogs and others will not want to happen to them , what happened to the first guy.
Just some random thoughts.

They are silver, and yes it will slow ripps down. It will be attached to my house so I will hear them messing and then I can at least see who it is. Dogs are good too but I dont have one out side. Just anything to fuck um up is what Im thinking. Cause I just hate theives yea know:wtf:

If you have a dog and do not stake it outside at night (at least) when your plant is going into bud ... well ... what good is that dog to you? His/her job is to watch your stuff. Of course you put food/water/shelter and his favorite pillow out there (which he will tear the shit out of in 15 minutes cause he is so pissed at you). And he will bark for a couple of days too. Let him. You will get used to his "normal bark". One day he will cut loose with a different, more excited bark and you know what to do and where to go FAST. Catch "em in the act. if u r concerned thatt some1 will steal ur plants, the first and most important thing to remmember DONT TELL ANY1 U HAV THEM NOT EVEN UR CLOSE FRIENDS THAT WOULDNT DO SOMTHIN LIKE THAT, shit happens all the time like that and put up fake security cams(cant afford them then just make them) can do it wit lots of stuff and pretty convincing, along wit no tresspassing signs. and if you live in certin parts of the USA u can SHOT trespasser if ya ot a sign, as long as there arnt people that now their there and cant be seenm, u should be fine:rastasmoke:
