i have been using root organics dirt and i have been checking the run off ph and it is really low(5.0 to 5.3) i have tried adding ph up but it doesnt seem like i can add enough to correct it. so i was thinking it will be cheaper to switch dirt, what are yall suggestions

Changing the pH of soil takes time. You are better off re-potting.

Sunshine #4 - I guess it is not really 'dirt' per se but drains like crazy - I don't think it is possible to overwater it. Never had a single PH problem -it has some sort of "self adjusting PH element" - just make sure to fertilize (I add molasses during flower). Two successful grows in a row (very first ones for me), and the third on the way and looking good.
You can up your Ph with dolomite limeâ?¦inexpensive and lasts quite well. It serves as a buffer in that you wonâ??t get the Ph swings that periodic applications of Ph up might bring.

Doesn't this need to be added to the soil before potting? Would make sense if you want to repot using the same soil. I like manure humus as a buffer but I've read enough about lime to believe in its efficacy.

That was the intent.
The die is cast without a re-pot. That said, I have had some luck adding tiny amounts of lime to waterings in an extreme pinch. The bad news is that youâ??re never sure exactly what youâ??re going to end up with.
To use the same soil (without repotting) would take establishing mix ratios on the outsideâ?¦and then infusing small amounts to wateringsâ?¦.pretty hit and miss.
I added this info so that Twitch would have another tool to work with in the future.
