First Time Doing + Buying Questions

I just got my medical card about a week ago and in two days I'll be visiting an undecided dispensary in LA... the only problem is... I've never smoked before and feel a little clueless. I was wondering... do the dispensaries sell joints/vaporizers/etc. or only weed and you have to buy the extras elsewhere?

Because I don't get many opportunities, I was planning on buying it and smoking it on the same day so I just wanted to be prepared. Any tips about first times would also be awesome. :) I'm a true newbie and appreciate all the help. I'll be with my boyfriend, so if there are any tips on what to do with someone when smoking... anything would help. Thanks. :)
