I wonder how, with products like these tolerance doesn't fast become an issue.
under 1284 - is there a provision for research? Could companies like this benefit from locating in Colorado?

Sativex is available in Canada where it's been prescribed by doctors through pharmacies for a number of years. GW Pharma is attempting the US FDA approval process at present for access to the American market, with nothing to show so far. They have the backing of Bayer of Germany and a number of other very deep-pocket international pharmaceutical companies (they have hundreds of millions of pounds sterling available for their research.)
GW Pharma Limited is a very cool company. There's heaps of excellent info on the www; peer review studies, video, etc. about them, their products and methods.
I've heard stories that Sativex tolerance among some Canadian patients IS an issue and others patients, sadly, don't realize any benefit.
I'd love to get my hands on some Sativex for a couple of my friends to try. Making a similar medicine is something I've been attempting for a long time with a certain very special high CBD variety.
There is a publicly traded company in Colorado Springs that claims it's mission is to make similar products to GW's, but nothing's been patented and that level of research, FDA approval, etc. would be extremely difficult, years in the future, etc.
No research on this scale was possible in CO, until HB10-1284's infused product clause was added at the last moment. When the CO Springs Co formed, plant numbers, etc. were still tied to patients. So their claims of making revolutionary new medicine, I believed at the time, were simply for marketing shares of stock to suckers. Now I believe they can do real scientific research with an infused product license, as can anyone else with the same license.
This new license also allows for, the first time, the ability to openly breed and experiment on new varieties and strains. To truly do it right, you need to breed out hundreds of plants from one set of parents for selection of one potential plant and that's possible now with an infused product license.
It is likely that CO will become the world leader in cannabis breeding with this new license.

yea, except for the 1 yr moratorium. before anyone new can open something up they are going to need a local license/approval, and be open by 7/1 so new enterprise in this area is killed for one year.
