really dry dirt and leaving for a month
hey there str8 to business. i recently moved my plant into the ground. see pics :). the hole i dug was about the size of a bucket and i mixed regualr dirt in with store bought regular potting soil. i gotta leave for a month or more now. what can or should i do befor i leave? the soil around here is shitty i would say. its clay about 3-4 feet down and rocky till that. i havent done anything to this plant. germinated it, threw it into a cup, set it outside, and kept it moist. im wondering about maybe pesticides of some sort or fertilizer sticks, because i will not be there to baby it. thanks to anyone that replies. this web site is awesome and im gonna continue searching. THANKS! just click my prof for the pics i cant seem to attach them

Well im assuming that ya cant trust anyone to check it for you to feed an water it. Sucks, but you could get a few gallon jugs and put a small hole in it so it just dribbles out slow. If you could find one thats bigger, say 5 gal and use a very small drill bit, i think this would work for a good amount of time. If its a 5 gal you should find a cover as the pressure would make the water go out in a day. But if ya picture a gallon jug with a cap on it, dripping water and pre mixed ferts in it, i say your cool:cool: Now i might hit it with some paint to blend into the background, or rough it up good and put some branches over and around it.
Man its the best i got. At least, if the hole was small enough and you have a cap on it, i think it should get ya a couple weeks at least. I don't know anything about the fert sticks. Id giver a shot, if ya cant come up with anything else. But let me know man:thumbsup:
Good luck man:rasta:

i think its about 2 gallons. i took a pic of the water level befor i left and ill mark what it is when i get back...if any. then ill set out another n see how long it takes to be empty so ill know how long its gone without water...i been checkin the weather its gettin down there and its been pretty dry:(....and people dont usually pull into drives down there where i was at and if they did it would look like some garbage in the yard. its a construction zone so it will fit in

How long before ya leave? And maybe take a black marker out and put a line where the water level is, then you can do the math for just how many days it would take for it to run out. Oh i just noticed, ya might have left already, but with 2 gallons of water dripped down into the ground, i think your cool as the roots should follow. And there is moist soil down into the ground that should keep your plant good till ya get back:thumbsup:. And yeah the site is titts for sure:thumbsup:

Hey mid, hows it going:jointsmile:, hes got the plant already in the ground. I thought you would need to put them down under ground. Iv never used them, but would like to know how they work as im sure they could come in handy:thumbsup:. And yeah i guess he could have dug it up, so if thats what you were saying, i get it. But if you could spread them around the plant, that would be way cool, just don't know how that would work.

if you have to leave again mulch if possible, though you're kind of out in the open. If you can get away with it is all. She's a beauty
