Powedery Mildew, Too cold or too humid?

I am getting sporadic mildew on random nugs. I can't tell if its too cold or too humid. My grow book says that anything under 76F will trigger mildew Someone at the grow shop told me because I run my lights at night, the early morning dew/humidity is hurting me. I have a 6 inch blower, blowing strait from outside to the low end of the room. He then recommended a filter or pantyhose to stop the water. I know that filters and pantyhose don't filter humidity, but the label on the on of the filter says its stops mold and mildew.

Will a filter help with this mildew?
Should I raise the temps 5 deg F?
Also the last 3-4 days humidity in my area has climbed on average 15%, could that be the cause?

humidity is to high, get it down to 40-50% in flowering... also you say you have an 6" inlet fan but do you have an exhaust fan? you need good air circulation. dont raise the temp any more, you dont want it above 84, keep temp between 70-80. hope this helps :thumbsup:

humidity... powdery mldew can occur during cold or warm weather... still air and high humidlty are the conditions for pm outbreaks.

to treat the problem... 1 oz of bicarb soda, a couple of drops of insecticidal soap and 1 gallon of water - mix and spray plants lightly, either lift the lights or move the plants out until dry. Don't treat at lights out... the plants need to dry off quickly.

Prevention - REDUCE HUMIDITY

keep extraction fans going during lights out... if this makes it too cold, put extraction on a timer set for 15 mins on and 15 off

reorganise your watering so that you are not putting so much water out during the dark period.

I have used Bonide with great results. It is organic, Neem oil and water based. If the outbreak is not too bad run it on a 14 day cycle, but once every 7 days works fine. What size fan are you running? And at what speed? I found that as long as my ladies can handle it, I run my circulation fan pretty high. It keeps the spores from setlling and will also keep the pests from being able to hang out and cause damage. Not to mention it gives the plants a great workout.
