Dilution Question

I know this is redundant to many but I'm paranoid I guess. I was a regular smoker for years, cut back drastically over the last couple of years to an occasional smoker. It's been about 30 days since I last took even a hit. I bought four home test kits, two from walmart and two from walgreens (just for variety). I passed them all over an 8 day span with the last one being on the first void of the day.

Due to my continued paranoia, on the day of my pre employment screen, I had two cups of coffee and approx 48 oz of Gatorade in the five hours prior to my test. Other than that I followed my normal daily routine. Void was still yellow but my question is, was that enough fluids to cause a dilute result. I generally have a 32 oz diet soda after my coffee and before lunch anyway so was not much off my normal routine.

How many times did you void prior to the test?

Once when I first got up, them probably 3 times prior to test.

That's borderline pushing it. Two voids before the test would have been sufficient, but I wouldn't worry to much about it. Worst case scenario, you'll have to go back and restest. Given your home test status, you should be completely clean.

That's what I keep telling myself, but I should have known better than to schedule on a thursday afternoon knowing I would have to wait over the weekend to find out anything.

I was asking a very similar question about the dilution. Very similar scenario. Despite having not smoked in a while, about 2 hours before the test I drank a 16oz snapple and a 17 oz water bottle... plus a little more water that was left over in a bottle.

So, in 2 hours before the test, I drank about 36oz of liquids. I pissed probably 2 times before taking the test, third piss was for the test. The piss was fairly clear, but it was very noticeably tinted yellow.

My question is: since I took the test on Thursday, and it got couriered that night, would I have heard back from LabCorp by now if the sample was too dilute? Do they run tests over the weekend? Or is there a chance they didn't get to my sample on Friday?

Couldn't say. Labs differ in procedure and they could be swamped with a lot of other samples right now. It may be a week before you know your results.

I am in the same situation.

1 hour before the test, I took a pee, and at the time of the test,
I was running on an empty bladder.

Being scared that I'd have nothing for them, I drank a cup of water and ate
a grapefruit.

Well, the assholes over there had me wait 1 hour, just to pee in a cup, and my bladder was FULL. I was ready to pop. They gave me the cup and it was mildly clear, with a hint of yellow.

I don't think nothing of it, hell I'm clean. I come home and smoke a joint, and now I'm paranoid about it coming back diluted.
