I have 2 plants in growing in an 8 gallon tub started flowering about 10 days ago and today as I was adjusting my light I saw a bunch of what seemed to be dust falling off the one plant. On closer inspection I noticed one of the inner branches had several groups of little balls on it which were obviously male. I cut the branch off and none of the balls seemed to be open but now I'm wondering if that was pollen I saw. How long do these balls take before they open is 2 weeks enough? Also should I remove this plant or is it likely that the hermies were just on this branch

you stated you're own answer. if it had "balls" then cutting them off will do little good if you have females present in the area since this will not prevent more from producing. and it was most likely pollen so the grow was and could be jeopardized. if you want to salvage the remaining ladies, i would take a wet cloth and wipe everything that resembles pollen off all areas exposed to the "dust"..gL

I cut down the Hermie but what about the other plant what will the end result be if it did get pollenated? Is the result worth bothering? I'd just as soon avoid starting over if I could still salvage something.

Well I would suspect if some pollen sacks blew open, the other one probably is fertilized unless by some miracle there is no air movement.
AND if you have a grow environment that allows, save the pollen and do some cross breeding, can be fun to see what you come up with.

even heavily seeded bud can be quite potent... but your smokable yield will be reduced. but if your remaining female had few flowers showing when the male droped its pollen you will have few seeds. just keep flowering. were both plants from the same seed batch?

Rip the hermie now. Right this minute. If possible send pic of other girl. At 10 days flowering you will have a few seeds at the base of your buds. Not the end of the world. If the girl in flower has more than dime sized buds, you're fu#ked.

No I cut the hermie down a couple of weeks ago when the other plants buds were quite small certainly not dime sized and no sign of seeds yet. Thats good news I can live with a reduced yield and a few seeds as long as the result is still smokable.

did you wipe as must pollen as possible out? That dust is nasty stuff and will totally ruin your crop. This is what happened to me, but unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to catch it in time. In fact I pretty much just marveled at the site for weeks on end. LOL. Get that pollen out of there so that it doesn't do any more damage then what has already been done. Some did pollinate. You will discover seeds in your harvest, I'm sure of it. Keep the seeds though, they will be better then the ones you started with I suspect.
