DOD testing question

Does anyone know the testing/hiring procedure of the Department of Defence for civilian employees? Specifically the Department of the Air force. Im a chronic user (just quit) and haven't gotten the interview yet. I need to know how long after interview they require a physical, where the physical usually takes place, (on base? my own doctor?) and if they require a UA in ALL cases. If the boss doing the hiring seems cool, do you think it would be a good idea to admit I smoked some marijuana in the recent past or that I'm a medicinal user and don't plan on using cannabis after employment? I used to be a DOD employee and I'm eligeable for reinstatement with my seniority and the job isn't aviation related. Also If I substitute, why should I be concerned with getting the sample the right temperature if they send it off the the lab where it would change anyway?

Don't tell them anything. Sub with synthetic. Its illegally federally, thats all you need to know.
They have temp strips on the side of the collection cups.

If they act fast you will be offered a job about two days after your interview.

It is more likely to be a week or more after your interview, maybe up to a month.

You can always bargain for time by saying you were offered another job, you like the Air Force job more, but how long can you think about it without risking losing the Air Force offer.

During this time, you can exercise.

Then I'm assuming they do it after getting hired and starting the job? I was thinking I would tell them I need to give two weeks notice to my other job before I can start. That would buy me some time.

You can try dilution, substitution, etc.

But if you want to be at ease, no problems, stay clean from now on.

When you no longer need a job, then use again, if you wish.

Right now, exercise, raise your metabolism, eat soluble fiber, etc.

Take home drug tests on first void in a week or two and see if that is working.

The first void is a worst case scenario.

You can mildly dilute if the first void keeps staying positive.

You can mail the first void in for confirmation if you wish. They do gas chromatography when you mail it in. You can check anonymously on line.

Right now, it is 3am Friday. My test was at noon on Tuesday.

So I have gone 2 and a half business days without a call.

My only concern is did I overdilute.

I heard at one place that the MRO has to call you if there was a problem with the urine sample or test. I do not know how long they have to call.

To my knowledge they will not call and tell me I passed. Just like they will not call me and tell me that I passed the criminal background check.

I dont see how they can fail you for overdilution. When I was in the Army most of the time I couldn't go and would have to drink lots of coffee and water. When I was finally able to go the sample would look nearly white. Do you think they'd call you for a retest or just assume you're guilty because the sample is diluted? Sounds like total BS. I think that the pee test is unconstitutional because we're basically told to hand over evidence that could incriminate us.

I was told that dilution is a fail by the federal drug guidelines.

I hope it is just a retest if that is it as my urine tests clean for the first of the day. I will remain clean for the rest of my working life. I can not stand the additional stress. Good luck to you.

Yes, and now I am staying clean for the remainder of my work life.

The only drug ever used was THC, and it is not worth the worry of going through it again. Just in case they do randoms. Also, I have used the macujo method in case they do a hair test. It is now about 35 days since the last use and 15 days since the ua test. So... any further testing would be unlikely to find anything.

So... when it is time for social security, it will be time to get some good stuff once again and meditate somewhere remote and peaceful.

I am in the same boat as you, sortof. I am also going through the security clearance process and will be hoping to start my job as an Army civilian contractor shortly thereafter. I am preparing for a UA (been clean over a month) and should have no problem passing it, but did they mention anything about a hair follicle test to you? I am also preparing for that just in case, but really hope it doesn't come to that. Your insight is much appreciated.
