Is Marijuana right for me?

Hey guys well I've never did Marijuana before but seeing that it is a natural painkiller and helps with depression, I was thinking on trying on getting the licence. I live an active life with joint pain and my doctor basically told me just to take an over the counter painkiller but taking a painkiller all the time can't be good. I don't have documentation of my pain because i guess, the doctor thinks its just me tweaking stuff because I workout. Do I even have a chance of qualifying for it? I live in Oahu if that makes a difference.
