You don't necessarily need fluorescent for veg. You could go HID, or LED, or induction, or just about any type, really. All have different uses. I prefer LED.Quote:

i love using t5 for veg. cheaper electric than hid and you get tighter nodes than compared to hid. LED is even cheaper in electric but never tried them and they are very expensive for the area your trying to cover
