Please Suggest a Strain for Me...

I smoked pot a few times in high school, and a few times in college. I liked it, but didn't have enough contacts to keep a supply on hand. So I eventually quit...

Now (30 years later) I've gotten back into weed, and I absolutely love it. And my wife needs it for pain relief (although we do not live in a medical marijuana state).

However, I'm having the same problem I had 30 years ago: I don't have enough contacts to keep a supply of marijuana on hand. Sometimes I can find it, but it's becoming VERY difficult. I'm tired of dealing with 2-bit punks who charge me for an ounce, and deliver 3/4 of an ounce.:mad:

So, I've decided to begin growing my own. But I don't know ANYTHING about it. My plan is to grow hydroponically. What strain would be a good one for me to start with? I smoke only after 7:00pm, and want to get stoned as hell, and then fall asleep in 2 or 3 hours. I don't want energy from weed...i want to watch freaky movies while I'm fucked up as hell.

So please suggest such a strain that I can grow in a hydroponic setup.

It sounds to me like you are looking for an Indica.

First of all if you are a newbie i really would think twice about growing Hydro. Soil is more forgiving straight up!! As far as variety goes, spend the cash on a recent cannabis cup winner from a reputable seed bank or better yet get a cutting of a pheno that you have smoked and enjoy. If this is way over your head (no disrespect) grab a copy of a book such as Jorge Cirvantes medical marijuana growers bible. This is an art that takes many years to master and become extremely knowledgeable and proficient at.

Having the right facilities is key & the right equipment, too.

Strain wise: Indica...(Kush) or better yet; Indica Hybrids...like white widow, Northern Lights, AK48, Papaya, etc...the list is endless.

Indica all the way for what you want. Kushes are great for that! A nice purple kush is always a favorite. Also the white widow will not let you down! I just harvested some about a 6 weeks ago and it is a beautiful plant! :jointsmile:

i would say definitely strong indica, like og kush or skywalker.. those strains do exactly that for me, keep me stoned for 2-3 hours and then make me sleepy. indicas are usually much shorter than sativas, so it'll be easier for you to grow too. good luck
