Mephedrone to be made CLASS B, the same as cannabis ???

Cannabis was formerly a class c controlled substance within the UK. The government then upgraded it to class b. By doing so cannabis possession and dealing was more punishable than before.

Today when I was on the train to work I was reading the times, and came across this article title: Mephedrone will be made a Class B drug when outlawed.

Mephedrone is a legal drug that can be bought of the internet as 'plant fertiliser', it gives a similar effect to ectacy and MDMA but is more harmful than pure versions of ectacy and mdma. Its sold by retailers with names like the raving gardener. Similarly to ketamine mephedrone has been legal for a while now untill the dangers of the drug were unearthed.

In the UK alone there has been a girl and two teenage boys who have died from taking mephedrone. Cannabis has not caused one direct death to any human in the world. People have died either by committing suicide when high or choking on their sick after smoking too much.

For Mephedrone to be made the same class as cannabis is outrageous seeing as people have died as a direct effect after taking mephedrone.

Maybe mephedrone isn't as bad as i may think but making any white powder which gives a high the same class as cannabis is plain stupid. Maybe the people who decided on which class it would fall under sniffed a couple lines before so ?
