BURNED BY NEEM OIL? say it ain't so!! wtf?!

I AM SO WORRIED!!!!

so i have 4 plants all 30 days old, 1 master kush, 2 blue mystics and 1 unknown indica. they are on a 22-2 light schedule because it works best with my light schedule. i topped the plants about a few days ago. i water my plants every couple of days and make sure they are completely dry before watering again.

well, i saw signs of spider mites and quickly acted with a neem oil treatment. i used a 10-1 ration with pure 100% organic neem oil from Dyna-grow. i used warm water in a spray bottle, shook it up thoroughly and completely drenched the leaves and stem head to toe and rubbed it in, and put them in the darnkess right after. the next day i noticed brown and black spots forming on my leaves, as if it were burning? well i get home from work 7 hours later and it has worsened. i'm very worried and completely and udderly confused on what is going on here??

i wouldnt say it was the neem. if you didnt have the lights running when you sprayed them down. i dont think it was from the neem i would think it would have done alot more damage and i know some guys who really over did neem. i would say its from the bugs and the marks didnt show cuz you had got them early sure it was just mites. i could be wrong but im saaying its not the neem.:thumbsup:

If it was the neem oil I I would assume the spots would be more uniform. Its looks like its just spread out. Could've been the last of the spider mites no?

my guess was that the neem oil is eating away the part of the leaves that were infested with the mites?? it's worse on some leaves. new growth seems to be alright.. is there anything i should do? or should i just keep on keepin on and let my babies thrive?

The little white dots are from the spider mites where they have sucked out of a vein on the underside of the leaf. You found them quick, usually, I see the spots first.

No, it is not the Neem, tho you look like maybe you have a few light burns from a missed droplet of water.

The Neem will not kill the adult spider mites. It does prevent the hatchlings from eating and thus kills them off. I forget the life span of a mite, but only a few days, I think.

Neem oil will not hurt your plant. It can be absorbed into the plant, thus stopping leaf eating bugs like locusts. So not the Neem!

I read all about mites over the last few weeks while I too killed off an infestation. Neem oil doesn't actually kill mites! What it does is makes them idiots at ALL STAGES! Being a sap sucker however, makes getting the mites to ingest the stuff slightly difficult. But coating them in it works too!

Once inside the mite(or any plant eating bug). It works like a complex hormone. It goes straight to the nervous system then makes the little vamp to stupid to continue doing what it does.

Adults forget to eat, breed, lay eggs or build webs!(Adults have a limited lifespan. Most die after about 36 total days since hatching)

Immature, forget to eat, build webs or molt into adults.(immature molt into adults 8 days after molting from larva)

Larva fail to eat or molt to immature.(larva molt to immature 8 days after hatching)

Eggs fail to hatch (if some Neem can soak into the egg). (hatch time depends on room temp)

It DOES NOT kill them! It simply makes them to stupid and stoned to be an effective mite. Hence why it's suggested you retreat with Neem after a week. Because some eggs will likely hatch in that time. You want them to die before they reach breeding adult.

Female adult mites breed once, then can lay eggs for the remainder of their lives without a male. 20% of the eggs are male, 80% are female.

you guys are telling me things i already know. the neem is the cause, somehow it's eating away my plant, cause my plants had maybe one minuscule spot on one leaf maybe on each plant. now they're on their way to death it seems. the leaves are falling off as we speak. wtf, neem is the worst idea to ever do, DONT DO NEEM.

HA HA HA! Something else is killing your plants, NOT the neem oil. People have been soaking MJ plants in Neem for MANY MANY years without issues.

Unless of course you didn't read the instructions, and soaked your plants in PURE Neem oil. THAT will kill your plants. But that's not the neems fault.
