Holy crapola! It only took a year, but I've finally got it all working right. Through the process of trial and error, I have figured out the right formula for the 5 elements of growing: Water, light, temperature, soil and nutrients. (ya, ya, I know, we could add in CO2, but I kinda look at that as an advanced growers toy. I'm just a little grower with my state approved 6 plants in my little Colorado mountain log home.
After fighting with hooked leaves, saw tooth edges, discoloring, bibbing, drooping, burning tips, root rot, mag/pot/iron deficiencies, salt lock out and light leaks. I've found a mix of the five factors and holy cow did my plants take off. (I know, it could all change tomorrow and they could develop problems again, but for the last week I've been in heaven)
My biggest change for the better was a reverse osmosis unit for my water. I was at 243 dts out the tap of my 1,000 ft deep "salt bath" well.
Huge advice... spend the money on an RO system. Produces 10 gallons a day and cost less than $300. Hooked it up in less than 20 minutes with a cordless drill and a screw driver... never even got wet.
My plants are thriving like never before. Had my first major successful harvest and did very well for myself. I let them go 13 weeks.. NYCD, WW, TW and Banana Kush. Yummy and potent!
So, that's my story! Get your water tested and get an RO unit today!
Mine is a GE and it works flawlessly... water comes out with a dts of 5
