My thinking is you are following the 'rules of California.'
For example, If I took my weed out of CA and got pulled over, I would be in trouble because my certificate was issued in the state of CA.
I would call a Physician/Dr in CA that is listed in the MMJ directories and ask them about it...
Maybe if you go to the DMV in Cali and get an identification card made it might look good for you. Because when you go to a pot shop they ask to see your Identification for the first visit. So it might look good if you have a California Identification card and they look the same as a Drivers license too!
Every dispensary that i've been to requires a CA state ID. So while you might be able to get a recommendation, you might have a hard time finding a place to buy from.
It should not take long to get a cal id. I think like 6 months. something like that. If you even need one.
Is that right about 6 months to get state id?
my friend from California got a new York id after living there 6 months.
alright i'll try that place out and maybe get a cali ID which i heard was easy with a birth certificate. thanks for your guys' help
got a cali drivers license within the first week in the state. no need to wait. i dont think the dmv even asked for proof of residence. just old DL and passport.
they punched the old DL though.
You don't NEED a card.Quote:

A College Student in CA should either know where to find it, walked around town or open a newspaper.
You can do either of the following:
1- go to a local DMV in California and get a State ID Card
2- go to a local DMV in California and get a Calif. drivers license
Either will allow you to then follow the standard procedure of requesting medical marihuana 'recommendation' from a doctor, and then procuring the necessary credentials from Calif. Dep't of Health Services (Vital Statistics).
Insofar as purchasing medical marihuana from a Co-Op or dispensary is concerned, you will probably find that most if not all dispensaries will require a State Card (or sometimes a local card). This is becoming more and more the case as time passes.
That said, it is not uncommon for some dispensaries to allow a onetime purchase to patients with just a doctor's recommendation to allow them time to procure the necessary State or Local credentials.
Best of luck... :smokin:
