Catching "nanners" before pollination?

OK I just noticed that my 2 White Widow plants were throwing out nanners...

They were still very small... they didn't appear to be "opened" at all or anything and I didn't see any pollen. I think I caught them fairly early, however, the nanners were appearing in several buds in BOTH of my white widow plants! Pretty crazy! None of the other strains had any nanners after thorough inspection.

So, my question is basically what is the likelihood that I pollinated the rest of my plants? There was a total of 10 plants in the room, including the two herm white widows. Can you prevent pollination by catching the bananas early?? I'd be OK with a seed here and there, but I really don't want to have my entire crop extremely seeded...

Anyway, I killed both White Widows immediately. I'm trying to not get any seeds. The bananas were too numerous and too spread out to try to control them. They were still very small and hidden in the buds so I think they were still developing. I'm not sure exactly what stress caused this!!! This strain should be pretty stable. However, in the last week I did perform a nicotine drench and a pyrethrum drench on the soil (for root aphids). I also trimmed some lower branches and tied some of the main colas in to bamboo rods... Unfortunately I'm thinking it was the soil drenches that stressed the plants. Luckily none of the others hermed yet (even the Sour D's). Hopefully, it'll remain that way...

That's shitty. I bet you're ok if they didn't have the chance to open and pollinate. Have you noticed any damage to the plants caused by the root aphids? They might have played a role in the plant going hermie.

Those White Widows were the only ones that seemed virtually untouched by the root aphids!! I'm really surprised they hermed... I didn't seen any pollen so I think I'm good.

Now I've got one my Sour D's growing a little green ball in the top bud. I think it may be a seed, but I'm not sure if it's a pollen sack. I know the pollen sacks typically grow at the nodes... and you get bananas more likely in buds. Can you also get a pollen sack in the bud? This looks more like a greenish color, so I think it might be a seed growing. Who knows?

Man, I've had the WORST luck going around in this grow. Spider mites, Workers in house during veg, root aphids, herms!! I fuckin' tell you man, I've probably gotten a good several years of growing experience packed into this one fuckin' grow.

Often, calyx's will look a lot like nanners. Be sure you are not mistaking a calyx with late showing pistils, for being nanners. I've been fooled before, and it's a bitch realizing you chopped down a month's work.

Thanks for the headsup... I probably did chop a little hastily. I sure hope I didn't chop them unnecessarily!! Maybe this plant just grew strangely... I did think it was herming earlier in flowering because of weird formations in the buds... but at that time I figured it was just weird calyxes. Who knows?

These looked EXACTLY like small bananas though!! They were yellowish and curved. I wish had a camera that could take a halfway decent closeup!! I'll post a pic later, but it's really poor quality. You can make out the yellow color though.

Anyway, I need to talk to the clone vendor and see what's up. It must've been somewhat of a genetic trait since they both hermed at the same time... I thought White Widow was stable! Who knows if it was even white widow...
