Hey guys, a lil more than 2 weeks in this showed up. Pretty sure thats the first leaf to show these symptoms but other more mature leaves are starting to show the spots as well...Haven't added anything except tap water or water from brita filter.
I'm using MG 6 month feed...which I'm beginning to read about and seems this might be the problem..?

I seem to be having the same problem with my girls. I had this problem with my first grow when using miracle grow ferts, but luckily was able to finish off my grow before the damage was fatal. I'm currently using FFOF and a whole different line of nutrients and i'm still having the same problem. I tried flushing with ph corrected water and such but still to no avail. I would try giving her a good flush at the least when using the miracle grow. I'm curious to find what the problem is myself. Goodluck! :hippy:
yep, looks like nute burn! you are using too much.....
i would suggest trying something other than MG. Go to your local organic garden store or hydro store and get yourself some good nutes. :jointsmile:
I recently learned that most generic plant foods have feeding schedules that are far too strong for cannabis. With MG you should cut the recommended feeding in half at least. I like to start with a 25% solution of MG and work my way up.
Then again, I'm never using MG again haha. my current grow will be over in a couple days and after that, MG will be a thing of the past for me.
I haven't actually added fertilizer, yet.. i bought MG six month fertilizer release soil and i'm almost certain it's the culprit. The plants growth were still very strong but the necrotic spots were getting stronger.
it started spreading to younger leaves so I went to lowes and got a bag of all organic cow manure derived compost and a bag of mushroom compost. I mixed those up and transplanted. I'm hoping that mushroom compost contains plentiful mycorhizzae. Allows for better symbiotic/fungal relations with roots and the soil. Hopefully the plants can deal with transplant shock for a 3rd time...:(
I dont think that was a good idea believe all that compost contains nutrients and even if its a nute burn it would mean it has a nute lockout.
Like the above poster said try flushing it (ex. 5gal bucket 10gal of water) and see what happens.
Only problem with that is MG contains nutes that are activated by water so it might still have nutes in the soil you dont want to release anymore. But there not much you can do (hope you are in Veg)

Alright-- I'm in the process of flushing these girls and just bought some soil testing tube/pill things. I don't see how keeping them in the miracle grow soil is a better idea than getting them out of it and into something more natural but I'm a noob.. and just saw the trouble shooting so i'll fill it out to my best ability.
What is your experience level? first time
Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights. 10 CFL's... i add a few every week or so
.2) Distance from tops? inches
.3) Reflector type? the entire place is covered in aluminum foil
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply? De-humidifier and oscillating fan

.7) Specific brand and type of soil, (coco, peat based soilless...) and anything you've added to it. (vermiculite, perlite, worm castings...)

20) What size of closet, room or hut? its a lean-to hut i guess.. very compact but can grow with the plants
21) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off? 60-70ish not sure. nothing extreme
22) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom? None

There's no tip-burn apparent in the pics. It's not a straight nute burn; rather, it looks like you're locking out calcium and/or potassium. Usual reasons for this are soil that is too wet, too cold, or of too-low pH. If you used a peat-based medium to begin with, as most are, and the plants have been in there a while (like more than a couple months) it's quite likely that the lime is used up and the plants have lost their calcium source and the soil has lost its acid-buffering capacity. Check the pH of the runoff. It's likely low.
On the up side, most of the leaves look great. You may just need to re-pot up to a slightly larger container with some fresh soil. If the soil pH tests low, you'd be well advised to flush it back up to 6.8-7 and stabilize it before repotting. If you're going to do that, wait until the soil dries back out pretty well before actually doing the re-pot.
Well the plants are only about a 7 weeks old. I re-potted and flushed; pH is good. Do I need to get them on some nutes? How do I overcome lockout?
This makes MG sound like bad stuff. (I wont use it but read on) MG and other mfg of potting mixes are made for the whole world of horticulturalists. They load up the nutes. They many times do not get it mixed well and it burns like in the above pictures.Quote:

I CONSTANTLY see threads about a poor little 3 week old seedling/clone that is going to get hammered with nutes and then they ask what is wrong. The above picture is nute burn, with lockout of P and Ca, maybe Mg too.
I would like to know though, does Fox Farms make the mix for a general climate? For example I am in the Pacific NW and a very moist climate, Rusty is in Arizona and a very dry climate.....does his OF have less vermiculite that the mix I get? In other words do they climatize the mix for the general shipping area. I doubt seriously my OF is shipped from the same place Rusty's is. Hmmmm maybe new thread?
