Cough using Vaporizer

Iâ??ve had this problem any time I use my Ram vaporizer (similar to the Easy Vape). Iâ??ve been told to lower the temperature, (I lowered down to 300 & that didnâ??t help) and or donâ??t take deep breaths because the vapor expands in the lungs causing me to cough. I tried taking shallow breaths but after 30 min I canâ??t tell if Iâ??m even getting any vapor & I donâ??t feel any effect. I donâ??t know what Iâ??m doing wrong but I donâ??t enjoy using my vaporizer & I canâ??t smoke with my asthma.
I prefer the edibles but thatâ??s a hit & miss deal. Sometimes there good, sometimes not & I might as will have bought a Brownie from Vons for a dollar. I bought a 1 oz bottle of Indica Tincture & 1 oz Sative Tincture that was a waste of $80.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

First thing I would do would be to get rid of that vape. It is a Chinese knock-off and as such, is suspect to contain toxic materials in it's construction.
You really have no idea what the temp is, because the temp displays are notoriously inaccurate.

With that said, if you do decide to keep it anyway, the best way to guage if you are at the right tempurature is to check your ABV (vaped bud) to see what color it is. If it's black, the temp is too high. If there is any green left, the temp is too low. Ideally, if you really want to be kind on your lungs, the ABV should end up being a golden brown color.

If I were in your situation I would:

-Turn the vape UP to at least 320 (320 is the temp at which THC is activated, so thats probably why you dont feel anything)
-Poke a very small hole (about 1mm diameter) in the hose to add a little air to the smoke. If one isn't enough to make you stop coughing, try two holes.

Just don't poke too many holes or none of the vapor will make it up the hose. you might also want to cover the holes when you aren't hitting or you'll lose some vapor.

You could always try making your own edibles as well, its much much cheaper and pretty easy.

That would probably be your best bet. Check out the recipie section. There are so many different things that are not only fun to make, but that should give you the results youre looking for. Good luck!

I too hope that it's not toxic. Golden brown is good. Vapor is very rich in THC, much more so than smoke, so there's going to be some lung expansion going on that could cause some coughing if you take in too big of a hit.

i cough, and i use my volcano. its just that no matter what your taking into your body a substance which has been heated to somewhere around 300 degrees. so like what affects me, its never the smoke, its the heat, my throat burns and my bronchial tubes can feel it, my lungs cough. especially after a long session. dont forget that your vaporizer is using heated air, which also dries out all your passage ways, try taking hot water hits from a bong, or have a cup of steaming water and inhale the steam when you feel the coughs coming.

If heat or dryness is an issue, you can always hook up your vape to a bong. Lots of people do it, including myself.

Coughing from a vaporizer is common because THC is an expectorant and there is a higher concentration in vapor from a vaporizer compared to smoke from smoking. If you dont want to cough up a lung, try hitting it and stop soon after u start to feel the vapor in the back of your throat. I hope that helped:rastasmoke:
