For those of you that have been approved to grow...questions...
Hi Everyone,
I got a good email back from the DOH yesterday....VERY timely and it was probably within an hour for a response. I was pleased with their answers to my questions and the fact they responded so quickly....
With that being said, I am going to apply for my MMJ card in the next 90 days or so. Have some issues to take care of until then though....I am VERY curious on why the state approves some people for personal growing and denies many others??? It would be incredible to try to grow my own to supplement the MMJ that would hopefully be obtained from the licensed producers in the state.
So what are your thoughts?
:)

Personified,
Thanks for the link:). I have already seen it and read it over a zillion times...LOL!
My question deals with what would deny vs. approve someone from being able to produce at their residence. The application asks for detailed plans of growing, not being able to be viewed from the street, security.
I was curious as to the specifics of this from the folks that have been approved or denied and the reasons for this....
Thanks!!!!!

When I applied I asked them that specific question. If you are living in a trailer park on the south side of town with three teenage kids you arent going to be permitted. If you live on a rural road with no neighbors within a mile and you have a fence and a dog you are good to go.
You have a spot on the form to describe your operation. I wrote the entire story on a seperate sheet of paper, starting with land ownership, the location of the property, the description of the property, how I planned on keeping it secure. I described fences and dogs and the fact that there were only adult families in the area. I insured them that I planned on representing the program by being completely honest and forthright. I gave them my contact info and offered a tour of the property at any time.
I got the permit no questions asked. I beleive they license as many personal growers as they can. The State would much rather see many small, personal operations than producers and dispensaries. They just dont want it to be stolen by thugs, seen by police driving by, given to or pilfered by teenage rascals, etc.etc. They dont want INCIDENTS and you need to assure them there will be none.

I think that one word tells a lot. INCIDENTS are one of the things that are the most important to avoid. We must not allow INCIDENTS to be used as ammunition against us by people who oppose MMJ.
We, being MMJ advocates and users, have a duty to have no INCIDENTS. We have to prove that people who use marijuana are responsabile people.
Then maybe the governments will get out of all our asses. :hippy:

Pepurr you certainly nailed that one! I agree 110%!
Bob,
Your points are well taken. I would wonder if you owned your own home, planned on an indoor grow that would not be visible from anywhere but in that specific room, with security system, no children....if that would be sufficient.
Thoughts?

I would think that it would pass with flying colors. The only thing to remember...If there is an INCIDENT and the grow is not EXACTLY like your plan says it should be then you may not be protected under the Compassionate Use Act.

We should have a slogun to help remember the importance of not having an INCIDENT. Here's a couple I thought of;
1. Have an INCIDENT, be a chump.
2. An INCIDENT a day keeps the narks pounding on your door, Duh!
3. An INCIDENT saved is like getting a cap in yo ass earned.
Oops! I think the last one is already taken by some gang. Oh well. :rastasmoke:
