Soon, the only people who will be operating dispensaries will be those with the $10k it takes to file all the paperwork and apply for the licenses. Knocks the little guy right out of the equation.

and this is really sad but at least somewhere in the future we know things will change...I have waited almost 50 years to get where we are now...I just hope I will be around for when things will be all good....patience is it's own reward. :thumbsup:

Taxation is what will allow the legitimacy of the plight. Never forget that MMP and NORML promote the amount of money saved from ending the drug war and the taxation of one of the largest crops in America.

The Great Depression is what helped alcohol become legal through taxation and the revenue that could be obtained.

Taxes are not good unfortunately if you actually want the legalization of MJ then accept it as the cost of the freedom.

The enormous fees will be inevitable just like the cost of a liquor licensee this limits the numbers and troubles associated with non-control. In addition it makes folks think about the investment and the value of the privilege. Which again will legitimize MJ.

denverbear I too have been waiting over 40yrs +.Hope I am still around when it does happen.as it stands one day at a time.

The deadline for dispensaries to fill out their permit/license application is also March 1st. I heard a few days ago that only like 60-70 dispensaries had even initiated the process. That means they have 1 more day.

Does this mean there'll be a hell of a lot less dispensaries around very soon? I heard in another thread someone claimed that many dispensaries may just continue to operate regardless of whether they have a license or not. I imagine this won't last very long at all! I would thing they'll be pretty strict about enforcing their new law..
