Growers/Smokers of Co, I need your help

Hello Everyone, long time lurker here and this is my first post on this board. My name is Spazzed and I need your help. I am on a quest to locate at least 3 or 4 clones with exceptional genetics.

Here are the strains I am looking for - in order of preference:

1. Apollo 11
2. OG Kush
3. AK-47
4. Blue Dream
5. G-13
6. Kali Mist

My experiences with these strains are listed below. This post will get quite lengthy I assure you so if you wish to avoid a mad mans drivel then I would suggest using the back button in the upper left hand corner of your browser. There are no refunds from time wasted reading this post, you have been warned. Any input that you may have regarding these genetics or how I can go about obtaining them (locally preferred) I would appreciate it. I will do my best to keep this as lively as I can.

1. Apollo 11 - Brothers Grimm original, Spice Bros G or Rez G4 - Seems that this is just not available anymore and that is very depressing to me. I grew Apollo 11 exclusively for some time and had found what I believed to be the perfect pheno. Got a nice boost of energy, had a crisp clear experience and could literally have it any time of the day without issue.

I have kept an eye out and scoured the web looking for this and have found a couple of dispensaries that carry it from time to time. I even drove an hour one way to get the last bit that one place had. So far I haven't found anything that even comes close to what I remember. The smell is dim or nonexistent, not much taste at all and for lack of a better term felt watered down. I still have some from that one dispensary (bout 3 months old now) and even a further jar cure isn't helping....weak :(

Not too long ago I found a posting of a delivery service offering Apollo 11 clones. He was down to his last 2 and wanted $50 a piece for them. After making record time to the ATM, I made my way to the church parking lot and made the exchange and had both in hand. I believe I even giggled like a schoolgirl all the way home. That's another thing I miss about A11 - giggle, giggle giggle!

I vegged them both for a while and was able to take clones just a couple of weeks after I brought them to their new home. One of the plants was branching like mad; SCROG is my preferred method and Apollo 11 (IMHO) is the perfect strain to take advantage with its massive angular branching. The other plant grew like a weed (bah dum dum - Im here all night folks) and didn't bush out at all. How interesting as I thought that these were sisters. At the time this actually made me feel even happier...2 different Apollo 11's will better my chance of finding that pheno again (or at least something close to it).

I placed the clones in flower and everything was going as planned then one day i noticed a small ever so delicate strand of fine silk blowing in the breeze. Upon closer inspection I found that I had just introduced a mite colony into my grow room. I checked the mom plants and found a few leaves with groups of those little egg shaped monstrosities...lovely. This was my fault as I should have cleaned them first and foremost. I was just too excited I guess and didn't even think about it. It wasn't too bad of an infestation, I caught it really early and with a little TLC the little buggers were banished in no time at all.

1 week and 2 week and Stretch. These plants were really taking off. The one that most resembled the g of old was filling the screen with ease while the other would not grow out at all - so much empty space on the screen. Oh well, at least the other was doing just great. I even started to notice a faint rotten meat type smell - good times. Now into week three and I am clearing the undergrowth and noticed something of grave concern. It seemed that the one that was doing the best had decided that she was no longer going to do what I wanted her to. Even though I had given her a good home, attended to her every need, even saved her life I guess it really didn't matter at all to her, my feelings were unimportant and of no concern. She had enough of my way so off she went! Now between you and me, it takes a big set of balls to tell me how I am going to conduct my grow and believe me this lady had them...and then some!

By this time I had 2 more rooted clones ready. I will keep this round short and sweet - Try #2, stretched like mad again turned into a sexually confused plant again - oh the humanity! She was then culled for good.

If I recall correctly Apollo 11's finish in around 55-60 days. I typically went to about 70 or till the calylx were so swollen they looked as if they would burst. Well I think it was about day 75 or so where I had another dose of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. I mean the plant was healthy and all, but there were three things that bothered me. The first thing was that the flower sites were scarce and the flowers themselves seemed airy and lacked mass. The second thing that bothered me was the time. The plant didnt even look close to being finished. Maybe a few more weeks would have put on a bit more weight but it would have had to have been some insane growth to even come close to being what I had expected and I had already expected a harvest by this point. The third and most import thing that got to me was this plant was not an Apollo 11. Nothing about it reminded me of the strain that I held so dear to my heart in days of old. I felt like a fool...all that time I spent for nothing. Someone wanted to make a quick buck and I was there to fill his need.

As I look back now, it seems it has been about a decade or so since I went through 6 packs of seeds and found something special. A plant that stood out among the rest. Could fill a screen in no time flat, had an amazing citrus smell and taste. Was a superb producer and was a breeze to clone. Has it really been that long? It seems like just yesterday that I was harvesting her, giggling and laughing as scissors became impossible to open and close and anything you touched became an extension of your fingertips.

A girl that for years, consistently brightened my day , brought me energy and helped me get things done. Throw on some tunes and clean the house...not because I had to but because I wanted to. It wasn't just me scrubbing the nooks and crannies of the toilet...it was me and Apollo 11; and with her it could be done with a smile on my face and music in my soul.

She never failed to please and was appropriate on any occasion. I seemed that much more in touch with the music I was listening to even picking up on the little things in a song that may normally be missed. Online games seemed so much better as well. Totally alert and aware of what is going on around you...the subtle sound of enemy footsteps coming down the corridor the excitement and anticipation of being ready when he turns that corner and taking the enemy by surprise. Every action you take is fluid and controlled...was it wrong to wait that extra second till the enemy saw you so you could wave hi before sending him to his doom? Wrong - possibly. Funny - Most definitely

Of course she just wasn't only for entertainment. Some of the best spreadsheets and other work related documents were created while under her influence (after hours at home of course). Graphic design projects flowed so much easier and less mistakes were made. Creative ideas were plentiful and made working with 2D and 3D that much more fun.

I regret having to let go of her so many years ago as she was so exceptional. She has been missed.

I know this is a very lengthy post, especially it being my first one and all so I thought I would take a quick break to see if there were any questions on the above?

Timmy: Well as far as getting things done I would have to agree but you make it seem like you were in control while that is simply not the case with this strain. Yeah you get things done but it makes you do it, control is just like an illusion man. And as far as music goes you were pretty spot on about the floating colorful shapes of each beat as they dance around the room, with the...

Me: Actually Timmy I made no such statement. And I apologize for interrupting but could you please go into a bit more detail for the audience and I in your method of medicating?

Timmy: Totally, Bong rips all the way dude! Takes about 4-5 bowls or so as I only have a 3 footer but it definitely does the job. But dude I was totally going to cover all that and you blew my concentration. Could you please try not to interrupt me again mmkay?!

Me: Of course, my apologies the floor is yours

Timmy: Well once I am "medicated"...medicated lol. We're talking ripped broddah! Blazed, Dazed, Glazed and Amazed you know what I am SAaYun! You got me right, everyone you feel me?!

All: crickets, crickets

Timmy: Well Anyways, once I am medicated or basically when I can't hold the lighter still anymore I feel driven to get up and do something. Sitting on the couch shredding junk mail into little squares of paper is no longer an option and cleaning the house becomes priority number 1. Usually I start by closing all the blinds in the house then check to make sure the doors are locked. Once I know they are secure I then go back and open all the blinds to make sure the windows are locked as well. Once I am sure that the windows are secured then I will double check the doors before closing the blinds again.

Music is a must, I don't use headphones anymore nor do I ever anymore while on this strain and I would not recommend that anyone does. One time I was cleaning the basement with my headphones on and I became one with the music my body vibrating with the music well mostly my hands were but I was dancing too. Damn right dude, Apollo 11 liftoff, vibrating and dancing and dancing and cleaning and vibrating and cleaning and picking strawberries in the cotton fields of the confines of the crawlspace in my basement. Things are safe here...safe but dirty.

What were we talking about? Oh yeah cleaning...so I am cleaning the crawlspace using the organization method...you know the organization method right? Well you take things that are closely related and place them all into separate piles - like bills and junk mail in one pile, McDonalds wrappers and containers in another pile, burger king stuff in another...well you get the drift. So I got Pink Floyd s The Wall going while I get to organizing. Rocks bigger than my hand are piled up front near the entrance to the crawlspace. It does start to block the light so it helps to have a flashlight. Rocks smaller than my hand are placed into a pile behind me. Any dirt clogs that I come across...and believe me the bastards are plentiful; well I use those to fill in the gaps of the bunker wall. Pretty dug in now but will I be ready when they arrive to tear down my wall? I am sure it will be any minute and...

Me: I am sorry Timmy, I know I promised I wouldn't interrupt but people are getting bored and are leaving my thread. Also I am pretty sure you are talking about a totally different strain maybe something like Cinderella and I am almost positive that you had way too much of it.

Timmy: No, it wasn't Cinderella dude! I know for a fact it was C99. Don't talk about things you know nothing about man!11!!

Me: Well we are actually discussing Apollo 11

Timmy: Apollo 11. What's that? Is it any good?

Sorry everyone, I really did not expect the break to last this long and I will ask that we hold any further questions so we can finish up.

Apollo 11 is number one on my list and hopefully you understand why. I am looking for a clone that most resembles the mom I had long ago.

Questions that I have for you:
Does this strain still exist in clone or seed form?
if so, are the genetics exceptional?
If no, have you come across other strains that fit the bill. No paranoia and/or jitters please .

2. OG Kush - Put a smile on my face and placed me in a very very good mood for the duration. Was a nice smoke and didn't lock me to the couch...was able to get projects and other chores around the house taken care of with ease. Left me mentally sharp with a very good attitude. Very nice taste and left you wanting just a little more. I have only had this once and cannot be positive if it was indeed OG or not as I have no reference. Would like to grow it out and see.

3. AK-47 - I have had this strain quite a few times over the years with varying effects as well as potency. Overall it is one of my favorites when dealing with headaches and sometimes can kill the onset of a migraine. I am not sure if Serious Seeds has the best genetics on this strain or not but am looking for something along the same caliber.

4. Blue Dream - I have had this a few times and it brings a smile every time. There was a couple of times that if I had too much of a certain batch I would get a bit edgy and felt like I had downed 3-4 pots of coffee. For those that have grown it, what are your opinions on this strain?

5..G-13 - Another hard one to pinpoint as there are so many variations of G-13. Of course, I would prefer to have a cut of the original if at all possible. This is the primary medication that I use for pain.

6. Kali Mist - I hear that there is some excellent Kali Mist out there. The stuff that puts a smile on your face and enlightens your day; puts you in a great mood and elevates your spirit. I was able to procure an eighth at your friendly neighborhood med stop but it doesn't come even close to what I have read. Am I misinformed on this strain?

I do not mind putting the work in and obtaining the seed then grow until I find the one - hell I would actually prefer to do it that way. However, with some of these strains, seeds are just not available. And with a limit of 6 plants (legal), my searching into a pack of just 10 seeds would take at least twice as it has in the past. Then once one is found you then have to take up 1 slot (or 2 if you want to flower) of the 6 to work on the next strain. At most 5 slots to do the same procedure on the next strain. Now if I only use the one slot then I can still go through a pack of 10 in at least twice the time that I am used to. But once we get to the third strain, well then it will take at least 3 times as long not to mention that if I try to expedite then I wouldn't have used any slots for flowering during that time, meaning no medication.

It is my understanding that things are going to change further very soon. That one will have the option of growing or going to a dispensary. This means that I will no longer be able to legally have my preferred strains without giving up my growing rights or growing them myself. I have also read that dispensaries must grow 90% of what they offer and will only be able to deal with a single vendor. I feel this will really limit the amounts of various strains that are out there and make them much harder to come by. Caregivers will be allowed to have up to 5 patients but I think that relationship will involve finished product only not clones. So it seems to me and correct me if I am wrong but as a home grower, obtaining clones other than your own are going to be a thing of the past...accessible only by illegal means as you will no longer be able to buy them from dispensaries, craigslist or other current legal method. I could go on about this topic for a while but hopefully I got my point across. I would really like to know if I am off base here but it definitely seems feasible.

If this happens, then I will be unable to trade or purchase clones and I am sure that eventually I will tire of a single strain and will forfeit my rights as a grower to have just a small taste of variety. Once switched over I feel it will be next to impossible to legally grow again without going into extended periods of time without medication.

So again, I ask you all for your help in my obtaining any of these clones, ones that portray exception genetics, ones that would make the breeder proud to call his own. If you have one on hand, know someone that does and can possibly help or have experience with a particular shop that you know has quality genetics and can point me in that right direction I would appreciate it.

I know that many of you put a lot of time and effort into your moms and may feel that I might be better off asking for the world instead of a cutting of your prized possession. Too many people out there today looking to make a quick buck, not taking into consideration the TLC, time and effort that was put into the very thing that they exploit for their greed. I assure you that if one was so generous as to assisting me with this, that it would be for personal use only. I have had the same 40 hour a week job going on 7 years now and plan on retiring there if all goes as planned. I love my job and want to stay low key and abide by the rules. I do not sell, nor am I looking to make any kind of profit whatsoever with these clones. I had contemplated becoming a caregiver as it would give me more slots to grow seeds and find what I am looking for. The main problem with this is I feel I would not make a good caregiver. I would have to have something ready at the drop of a hat when the patient called. My preferred strain list would more than likely change as I would feel obligated to cater to the patients needs over my own as they would be dependent on me. This would also mean a much bigger grow, I would have to allocate much more time and space to meet the demand not to mention that staying low key would be a much more difficult thing to grasp. It seems that any direction I take puts me further away from my goal. For these reasons among others I do not consider being a caregiver as an option.
