Gov. Christie proposes school cuts
wonder what will happen if Obama and Christie both cut education...
homeschooling time? lol :(
Every year they cut education here as well, it's a wonder how these kids can even learn anymore. My mom works in the legislature & explained it as a way to thin the heard basically: if you can't afford to pay for the education then it's not necessary.
cuts going to raise property taxes too, like new jersey wasn't expensive enough.. poorer parents and stupider kids, this going to open a whole new wave of Jersey jokes lol
and as far rich people and private education goes.. the rich people leaving NJ, saw a report that NJ lost about.. well somewhere near the amount of money Christie wants to take away from Education, hospitals and colleges due to the wealthy leaving for snobbier pastures.. hmmm
Public schools spend roughly 20,000$$$ a student and their test scores are a total joke.........catholic schools spend about a 1000$$ bucks per student and have far superior test scores? They should fire ALL the teachers and their BS union idiots and hire new ones. Save themselves some needed money and time. Public schools are a money pit of entrenched unions and idiots DEPENDENT on tax money for doing jack shit. Not all.......but ALOT!!
:D:stoned::jumphappy:

$820 million in cuts to school funding, $445 million in financial support to municipalities, $175 million in aid to colleges and universities, and a $3 billion payment from the state pension fund. Here are five ways the Christie's budget can affect you:
â?¢ Property tax rebates are being cut 75 percent. And donâ??t look for a check in the mail â?? the money will come as a credit on property tax bills in May 2011.
â?¢ A reduction in state aid to municipalities and school districts by more than $1.2 billion in total. If Gov. Christie doesnâ??t get new laws limiting property tax increases, local government may raise the tax â?? or drop services and lay off workers.
â?¢ One group who will have to dig deeper to fund their prescriptions is seniors. Co-pays on name-brand drugs could increase from $7 to $15, in addition to a $310 deductible.
â?¢ Student financial assistance would be cut $15.2 million. Tax credits for high-tech businesses will be cut in half, to $30 million. Few of the 2,112 line items in the budget were not touched.
â?¢ Long-term, the calls for public employee pension reforms and push for laws allowing towns and school districts to get the upper hand on employee unions could cut property taxes.
by the way FD poles are a bad joke, and tend to be highlighted in the Nj Star Ledger which is also a bad joke..
