If you needed to turn off all ventilation and air-cooled hood fans to implement a Hot Shot No Pest Strip for 5-7 days, how far away would you need to keep a 1000W HPS?

I would be trying to string together some cfl's or something 5-7 day's using 1000w with no ventilation its going to get hot quick depending on the size of your room. If you have no other choice use the back of your hand and raise it a little until you can keep your hand in one spot comfortably. Maybe someone that has had to do something like this before will help you out better.I hope it all works out for you.

What state are you in? :D
Can you just do it during your night cycle? I'd get enough of them to do the job in a night or two. Store them all in a ziplock till next time.
I've used the hotshots in my flower room with the fans going and has worked fine. They will work there best during lights off. I just hang one in my 8'X8' room
Thanks for the input everyone!
I'm kinda leery about using the fans as I want the concentration of dichlorvos to max out in the room. My whole house isn't much bigger than 1300SF, and that's the area that the NPS treats I believe. So, I'd rather keep this stuff confined to the area it's needed.
The room generally runs on the cold side... and I have a direct vent to the small garage which is freezing. I think I'll just run the lamp at 24"-36" and crack that vent to let in some cool air. That room is really small so it shouldn't dilute the concentration too much.
