Here's some info from a recent thread (a lot of non-info in there too :D http://boards.cannabis.com/plant-pro...3some-cup.html
I was semi-successful doing this with my wife's chili plants... but I think ImageReaper's method sounds better :thumbsup:Quote:

Water the plants, then gently slip-out the rootball and seperate as gently as possible. No such thing as perfect, but use care. Place one seedling in one cup, the other in another cup...but don't dick-around and let the roots dry out. Gently cover the roots with more soil, pressing it in fairly gently. Water them in, and add soil to the voids that watering created, but leave enough room in the cups to properly water them..
Since they are stretching a tad, I'd bury them a bit deeper in the soil so only about 1/2 inch of stem (and the top) is showing. I do this with virtually every sativa dominate seedling I plant.
I have a 'stretching seedling fix' post around here somewhere. Pictures are included.
Cool. I found it...
Seedling Stretch Fix...
this is how they turned out thanks for the help ill be sure to post more pics with questions
Nice job. Do you have holes in the bottoms of the cups? (Gotta have 'em :D)
It looks like they could stand some more light, too. (That's probably why they're stretching, Rusty's right.) Some coolwhite fluoros or 6500K CFL's would be fine for awhile...
Good luck, Hermie
thanks hermie i wasnt sure if i needed the holes in the bottom or not. the biggest problem i have right now is lighting. im very limited on supplies so ive just been letting them grow in sun through the window. i know this isnt the most desired way to grow but its the best i have next to nothing. can anyone tell me how long i should be letting them sit in the sun at this point?
16 to 18 hours a day. Difficult to achieve in the winter months. Then there's the 12/12 cycle that will require 12 hours a day (on a schedule) of absolute darkness. No bathroom lights coming on, no headlights driving by, no street lights on the block...Then there's the nutrients and water conditoiners (phUp or phDown) if necessary.
You might want to start thinking of an alternative method that might actually work. (do you have a 'plan b'?)
What are you going to do once they stretch too tall and stink too much to hide from your parents? Are you risking someone spotting them in the window?
Unless you are able to provide the care they require, your results will suck, and you'll be chasing stress-related issues till harvest.
Good luck, though.
yai can see where you coming from on that. what would be the cheapest/best lighting i could get for only three plants and limited space for a closet or cupboard?
