Hey guys,
I don't know if you're familiar with what's happening in LA but today I woke up to see L.A. City Councilmen Jose Huizar's LA Times OpEd piece:
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/...1580.story]L.A. can't go it alone on pot - latimes.com
I wrote a response here:
http://waronme.blogspot.com/2010/02/...-jose.html]The War on Drugs is a War on Me: My Response to L.A. Councilmen Jose Huizar's LA Time's Op-Ed
You can digg my article here:
Should Digg Create a Category for Cannabis? If so, digg this
And I just learned that Councilmen Huizar may be subject to recall over the medical cannabis issue. Read more here:

The sh*t had just hit the face...take cover!

didn't see this, but heard a interview with a Californian republican talking about how even if cali made millions on taxing cannabis it wouldn't matter because they would have to spend millions on health costs from everyone getting cancer from smoking cannabis.. lol

not sure what you just said but I was referring to the founder of the Coalition for a Drug Free California, Paul Chabot. He says there is a new Columbia University study that shows that everyone going to get cancer and then California is going to have to pay for their health care

Hey, Sorry for the confusion. I know who that guy Paul is. He never says anything truthful nor does he ever say anything of value. I'm not worried about him because there have been UCLA studies to show that NOT only does cannabis not cause chronic smokers more chances of cancer but says that cannabis has protective properties.

yeah I was just amazed at the fact that he is like 15 years old and goes on television and talks out of his ass, I guess he is just hoping that there are enough media lemmings out there that get their opinions from other people despite their validity lol..

I thought I replied to this already but I don't see it. Must have been a technical issue.
Yeah that guy looks really young but I think he's about 30ish. He's hardcore against drugs. I've seen him debate in public. He started a group at UC Berkeley called "Drug-free" something or other and he really tried to get students to be drug free.
It's just simply insane.

I really hope Californian's pass this Prop in Nov. This is just the exact opposite of what the councilman want, this gives all the power the the counties and cities. don't panic about the title, the "tax" is strictly optional. It would be up the city council to create a new tax after the fact, if they want, likely at their own peril. but, all cannabis laws will be dead in the state 24 hours after this passes. if it passes. :)
