Worms in my seed must DIE

I have just germinated my first ever seed to grow and when it sprouted out of the soil i noticed that there were little white worms in the shell of the seed (looks like they came out of it). I killed them all... After looking it up it seems to be that they are one of those strange cases of THC worms, but my firend had the same problem with a seed earlier this week. Is there anything i can do to stop them munching my weed up / will they damage the plant.... eww...
