Newbie has both yellow and tube shaped leaves
Well..........Our indoor grow is in it's 3rd week. We have four plants that we started in pete pucks. We transplanted into an organic soil mixture of 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 vermiculite and 1/3 "organic" topsoil @ approx.1 week old.
Soon there after, as the plants progressed, we began to get yellow and dried brown spots on the lower leaves.
I'm pretty sure that our lights were initially to close. I'm also pretty sure that we were over watering based on my prior research here.
we started feeding an 1/8 dose of 9-4-4 fish based nute about 1.5 weeks ago but did not see any change in condition. since then we fed a 1/4 dose of 24-8-16 and some yellow started to turn green again!
But nowwwwww:mad: on one plant the top new growth is, well, tubing? What on earth? Soil ph levels are 6.5 to 7 . "fertility" seems to be @ "low ideal" levels on electronic soil tester.
Here is our set up:
closet is 3' wide x 6' long x 8' tall
venting to outside for 10 min. every 3hrs @ approx 50 cfm
430 watt hps currently @ 275 watts on 24/7
current temp @ the canopy tops is 86 but this is not the ambient temp
Humidity has been everywhere from 60 to 30% its currently 25% which is the ambient level around these parts.
a small fan for circulation runs 24/7
a small ozone gen. is used sparingly
Please let me know if Iâ??ve left anything out and I appreciate anyoneâ??s help.

I would raise your lights and switch to a 20/4 or 18/6 cycle.
It looks like you might be over watering as well, what's your current schedule?

Too much nutrients, too much water, not enough air and not enough pot. Start with a bigger pot with some fresh soil and some more ventilation.

Current schedule is every 3 to 4 days or whenever meter reads mid range "dry".
You would raise lights even with lower runnin watts?
in your opinion does this account for the tube shaped leaves?
Thank you for your quick response!!!!!

The curling is probably nutrient excesses that the plants can't respire and since they aren't using the light or warmth it's no use having them in bright light. What is the daily temp swing from coldest to warmest? I would flush them now with plenty of not too cold water and transplant. I bet the roots around the pot are brown. Next time wait a while longer after an emergency feeding like that and when in doubt flush it out.
Also, run your vent constantly.
Don't go by your moisture meter, go by pot weight. Watch the plant and lift the pot. Sometime before the plant starts to droop from lack of water (a day or two) the pot goes really light. You lift a pot that needs water and you know. Let the girls really dry out. As they grow you will water more.

I like the way you think!! Thanks for the input
Mabye I was to fast on nutes. But I'm surprised because I started with what I thought to be a nute free soil?????
I will increase venting.
I will consider my contribution to the GDP , When my confidence , experience and my ego, increase!!!!
Thanks!!!
