Nah, didn't fuck it up, you're OK
You want to try and bend it so that light gets to the bottom nodes. Your plant is still pretty small, so wait a few days and tie it down again, and try to get it tied down so that the top growth tip is parallel to the ground. Wait a few days again, and tie the top tip down again so it's parallel again. Once you do this a few times, the lower shoots will become the tallest. Then tie them down. Keep going until you are satisfied that the growth tips are all at the same level.
It will take a few weeks. I find that LST is easiest about 6 hours after a good watering.
ok so the top should be facing the floor? this has made my plants look to me deforemed...the leaves dont look the same is that cause theyre all not in order after the squash or what....will it ever go back?
After a day or so everything will turn back up towards the light. I bend the tip parallel to the ground, not facing the ground.
Another thing I do is to use two ties at first, one to hold the stem in place and the other to bend the top over. Check this out:
I showed you already! Obviously if nothing snapped in half then your fine.
once again....
so i've been reading about all these past posts about the lst and what not. i have a 4 bulb 2 foot t5 light that ive been vegging a few plants under. i just wonder so once you tie them down and curl the plant around the pot to utilize the most space do you just untie what the plant has created and let the plant then grow more? or leave it tied and just switch to bud once ready?
just switch the lights and your good to go. If you were to undo any hooks or ties, once the plant starts to grow you lose the shape you've trained them to grow in the first place. Then it starts to grow all funky and cover up the spaces that was allowing light to the lower buds.
Once you start flowering I would even tie each of the colas back a little bit to open up the canopy and expose the inside of the plant so more bud will grow. Think of it like when you lst your creating a 'claw' shape for the plant, and you want the claw to open.
well put this is my first grow as well so im trying to figure out the way to maximize my bud outcome for the least effort. this is more just an experiment and cant expect fat buds but im trying. ive also heard scrog is nice and seen it but dont kno if i wanna try it,
Scrog is nice  However, with Scrog you need to know how much your plant will stretch in flowering to get the most out of it. I grew out one plant first with LST, kept a grow log (with plenty of pics every week) and could see how much it grew from week to week. Then I could estimate how much to fill in the screen before flowering.Quote:
