Lets Talk About Mites
Age old problem. Same old solutions. I want to avoid neem or azamax as it gives me headaches and bombs are out of the question.
I have found success in regular foliar feeds followed by distilled water, but this is very time consuming.
I was considering pest strips, and wondering if anyone has had experience with these.
I want to come up with a new way of dealing with mites, like possibly gassing them in a small chamber that can be moved outside to avoid breathing dangerous vapors.

Use sticky tape around the plant rims of the plant pots to prevent further migration of mites.

good idea. will do. i was also considering using sugar in the water. spraying the plants, let the sugar sit in sticky form on the leaves and drown out the mites: their legs will stick together from the sugar. then spray them down again with distilled water 30 minutes later to wash the sugar off.

Killing the living is not that hard. It is the unborn that makes it hard. You must break the life cycle to get rid of them. My bro's middle name is sorry ass spidermiteman. If just one little one makes it to lay eggs it never ends.
Pyrithum bombs are all natural and dissapate quickly. Took me 5 bombs at 5 days apart to get rid of the two spotted mites. Going to follow up with azamax just to be sure they are gone.
I will follow along because I would like to see a better way but the nopest strips did not do a thing for me. They like my buds better I guess. LOL

The best thing I've used is the HotShot pest strip. Hang it for about 10 days and then rebag and save for latter.

green houses used methyl bromide at one time
hot shot strips and pyrethum sprays help, but the buggers build an immunity to them
over the years I have found that harvesting, killing all plants and using nasty bombs.
then start over from seed and ,NEVER get cuttings from anyone, or allow anyone around your grow room, is probably the best prevention as treatment after infestation, well good luck

looking into hydroxyl radicals and uv-c as a means of dealing with the mites. negative ions can kill dust mites, however dust mites are much smaller. i think with enough hydroxyl radicals close up it will destroy mites and their eggs...

researching the efficacy of uv-c light bulbs. i'm going to build an array around my plants and give them controlled bursts, which will effectively kill the mites.
