Small Cola's
Hello to all,
Just a question... Is there any reason that the top cola's on my plants would be smaller than any other time I have done this?? they are different seeds, so that may cause it. Under 400w lights.
Is there a specific stage of flowering where they really begin to bulk up? Or could it just be the strain?

strain figures into it, heavily ... sativas tend to have fluffy, light buds, indicas can have anything from dense colas, to golf-ball type buds ... available lighting has a great deal to do with it ... 400 watts of high-pressure sodium, is vastly better than 400 watts of cfls, etc ... everything comes into play, from the rootball, to the temperatures, menium, etc. ... to get the big 'magazine-photo' colas, you need to get all your ducks in a row ... happy gardening !

It could just be the plant. I have seen plants from the same seed run grow vastly differing sized colas. From pinched marble sized colas lost in leaves on one plant to a full donkey dong with few leaves on another plant. Genetic expression is a bitch. Don't give up on your plant though...those little buds can be the stickiest and while they may not have "bag appeal" they may be your favorite smoke ever. Never give up on your ladies.
