Ok this is a plant grown in MG in the basement @ 70 deg F with (2) 100W Eq 6500K CLF's (1) 150W Eq 2700K CLF and a 1x1 square with red/blue LED's. I am keeping the CLF's roughly 3" from the baby and it is all contained in a 2'x2'x4' pegboard box with the white side in. I have done a 24/7 lighting on this and I am concerned with it's growth. Please take a look at the picture and tell me if this plant looks happy for 2 weeks old.
Well for two weeks with that light i believe it should be much bigger. I dont think the holes are helping you out either. Do you have a fan for air flow? Thats all i can think of, but no pro here. Id get a fan on it and maybe put white toothpaste into those holes, because your loosing light to them. You might try 18/6 with all that light it may need a brake to process the light your giving it to build tissues.Quote:

However I think 70deg may be a touch low.
A fan blowing in the box, both bringing in new air as well as circulating air around the plant will help a lot too(removes outgassing from the plant as well as bringing in more enviromental CO2). I added one last night and noticed improvment within a few hours, not only on how green but how quickly the new set of leaves are forming. I suspect they will start expanding quickly tomorrow, yet I could barely see them last night.
Otherwise your's looks a lot like mine should in a few days. I've been doing 40 hours on and 8 off (turn off before bed every other night). I'd have been doing 24/7, but I want them to have some "sleep" time too. :thumbsup:
I think your container size is too big.
There is the root to shoot thing, where basically things will grow much faster if you start off in say a 2.5 inch pot...then when roots are showing out of that, transplant to 3.5...then 5.5 ect. Recently I tested this out. I used to just go from a grow plug with roots showing straight into a 3.5 wide x 5.5 deep square pot. I got 800 ( for about $ 60) of these smaller ones 2.5 wide, that are still very deep and have been using these now as a first step. The ones that have gone into the smaller and been transplanted are much bushier and have grown faster.
For me, I veg them in the 3.5's until they are about a foot tall, keep them in the same container, prune lower branches off...put in F zone and then transplant them into 5.5 or 7 inch (wide, square) pots for the last 5-6 weeks of flowering depending on when I get the time. I have finished plants that ended up being 4 ft tall, and producing 20+ grams....in the 3.5 container. I find it easier to transplant to the larger size so they don't tip over as easily and it doesn't worry me if I missed a day of watering/feeding which I regularly do every other day.
Doesn't look too bad to me, each plant is different & under the same growing conditions & strains I've had ones about that big up to 2 sets of leaves farther along at 2 weeks. I agree you need to get a fan blowing on that baby, it'll thicken up the stem which helps with water/nutrient transfer to the top and a little better growth rate.

No problem my friend. Try not to stress out as being new its easy to do. Your temps are fine. Also, when they are small they grow fast as they have natural ferts genetically in all seeds to get them started in nature. I wouldn't add any for awhile. Some air and rest i think you will be surprised how fast they will take off.Quote:

That is not enough green for a 4ft plant. If I dried out my girls after a few wks of flower without finishing them just the bud sites would weigh more. Is the + part of your 20+ grams hiding the rest of the weight? I had about 40+ grams with a 3 gallon pot using bag seed. Now using 4.7g pot with quality strains so expecting to stock up this season.
I like to transplant before flowering after allowing a few days to deal with any stress from the transplant. Also just a thought about temps. Soil temp is not ambient room/cab temp so if your soil temp is 70f your set, if not what would you think it is? I am guessing a few degrees lower maybe two or so. Not sure what the ideal temp for soil should be. Someone on here might chime in that knows.
opps...I crossed up numbers. Must have been too many canna caramels.
The plants that I got 20 grams from, I put direct into flower as soon as 4th node was reached . Kept them in 3.5's. They finished at about 1.5 feet. And there were bunches packed into tighter space
The plants that went through all the potting steps, so as to end up in 7.5's (gallon and half?), that ended up being 4 ft had greater yield.
I am still not sure best space/ trasnplant ration.
Sure if I transplant more to have larger pots, and larger plants= larger yield.
But if done that way, I can not fit as many plants in F zone area. Currently I have three ft plants in 3.5 inch containers with a month to go. Do I now transplant to larger...? And hope it increased size weight...or leave them and keep number of plants maxed
