I am trying to get my mm card and I was wondering how to go about it. I am trying to get it for my depression. Is this a legitimate reason? I was also wondering if I should tell him that I have smoked before and enjoyed what it did for my condition. Do doctors shy away from patients that have smoked illegally? Any information would kick ass. I just want to be part of the community and treat my condition legally.
Unfortunately, Montana only recognizes physical ailments, not depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc.
As for your doctor, I told mine, but she declined to recommend. Her policy and choice. I still use her, but I get to write MMJ in medications used!:hippy:

If you are going to legally use, you should learn the state's laws. Each state is different. Short version:
Montana's Medical Marijuana Law serves 6 primary functions:
1 - It allows terminally and seriously ill patients who find relief from marijuana to register to use it with a doctor's approval.
2 - Once terminally and seriously ill patients obtain registry ID cards, it will protect them from being arrested and prosecuted for using their medicine.
3 - It permits registered patients or their caregivers to cultivate their own marijuana for their medical use, with limits on the amount they may possess.
4 - It allows patients and their caregivers who are arrested to raise a medical defense in court even if they have not registered.
5 - It restricts the medical use of marijuana in public and while driving under the influence of marijuana.
6 - It protects Doctors from action by the Montana Board of Medical Examiners or Labor and Industry Department for recommending Medical Marijuana.
