2009

Patient:
Male 50 â?? 60.
Lumbar & sciatica. Pain depression. Pain anger.
High level pain 24/7. Chronic, long term.
Multiple pain medications.
6 month trial. Indica (mellow) & Sativa (energetic) strains.

How it has helped:
Cloud Nine
When partaking in medical marijuana, I become wonderfully relaxed. Thusly, my body is no longer â??tightly woundâ?. Though it doesn't â??physicallyâ? ease all my particular pain, it does however, allow me to completely forget about it during large chunks of time. Comparable to a full body stress relief. Muscles feel looser and my sciatica decreases. Additionally, it can make me sleepy. That comes in handy for my sporadic sleep cycles.

Improved Mood
Whether partaking or not (more so partaking), my laughter increases. Act more jovial, like the â??me of oldâ?. I can be more introspective, and certainly more creative. The creative part can be a delightful path filled with vision and amusement. The biggest bonus? When I am beyond the norm of anger and frustration, those two negative emotions instantly disappear. I kid you not, just like flipping a light switch.

Prostrate: Ease the Squeeze
When partaking in medical marijuana, it boosts my urine output. Very helpful when taking Rx medications that restrict flow. 90% of the time, if partaking late in the day/evening, it carries over to bedtime. I don't have to get up during the night to pee. Normally I would urinate 1-3 times. One less reason to break my sleep cycle.

Body Temp
This is quite interesting. When I partake, my body temperature lowers. Example. It is a warm day and I have the living room window open. I find myself either closing the window most of the way, and or, I put on a light warm up jacket. I normally run very hot, so again, this is another fantastic side effect.

Sex
Partaking or not, I am once again able to muster what I consider to be a proper erection. One often stunted by Rx medications. This has vastly Improved my sex life. Consequently, the passion returned too. Can you grasp the importance of this situation?

Nausea
When partaking in medical marijuana, my nausea due to Rx medications lessens. Especially pain related meds. I have found that it works well with a sour stomach and the old â??I over ateâ? feeling. Excuse me, I have a burp brewing.

Munchies
I didn't get the munchies at first. I have noticed a change toward that now. Though I do not always get the munchies when partaking. Much of that depends on the type of strain I utilize.

Less Consumption
Love this one. Due to partaking in medical marijuana, I've been able to stop Morphine as a maintenance medication and instead, use it for breakthrough pain relief only. Additionally, I've been able to lower my sleep medication. My brain is on it's knees thanking me this very moment.

Drawback:
Temporary Memory
Memory can be poor during use. Kind of the point for me though, so that is fine. In fact, it can be pretty damn humorous when talking about any number of topics, and halfway through, I completely forget what the heck I was talking about. A sorely needed, and wanted big chuckle indeed. Minimal residual temporary memory loss the day after. Of course Rx medications can dull ones memory as well.

Emotions
Sometimes run higher the day after. Though I feel more empathy, I can tear up due to the silliest situation. For instance, I could be watching a romantic movie scene that is all-together badly written, directed and acted....suddenly tears. Where did that come from?

Best Way To Partake In Medical Marijuana:
Vaporizer
No doubt in my mind that utilizing a â??vaporizerâ? is the healthiest, lung friendly way to go. You ingest only vapor, no toxins. In other words, no smoke, just gas. They are not cheap. $150.00 and up for a decent vaporizer and worth it. The first time I tried a pipe, my lungs were very angry with me. Cough, cough, cough. I have seen cigarette smoke exhaled into a white cloth becoming dark and funky. Through the vaporizer it was clean. Additionally, the vaporizer carries much less smell, making it conducive for indoor use. The original box vaporizer is a good example of price/quality ratio.

Synopsis:
This experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and a monumental success. Far more pros than cons. I began this experiment for pain. The end result yielded more than I could have ever imagined in the realm of possibilities. In plain words, medical marijuana works, works, works!

My wife, for whom I carry great respect, and believe to be one of the most intelligent individuals I've had the pleasure to know, concurs 100%. And by the way, she has never experimented with drugs in the past or present.

I am stunned, saddened and dismayed that the medical community is so naive and fearful when it comes to medical marijuana. This herb can assist countless patients. It can is a viable alternative to many of the nasty and toxic pharmaceuticals deeply ingrained in society.

In all my years, I have never known a single friend, or associate over-come with problems due to marijuana use. I have never known a single friend or associate move to harder drugs, overdose, or die from marijuana use. That in itself speaks volumes!

In my opinion, the Federal government flat out lies about aspects of marijuana. First hand knowledge and experience tells me that marijuana is off the charts better and healthier than alcohol and cigarettes. Yet never an overt peep from the government regarding those major body polluters. Please, keep an open mind, and thoroughly educate yourself free of preconception. Thank you.
